I can't get them pulled for another 10 days. Does anyone have any ideas on what will get me through this? I have been taking Advil but they still hurt. The dentist said they have really big cavaties on them.

i have to smoke a cigarette, and i am wondering what is the best way to ensure this not causing dry socket. What about if I secured the openings with gauze and bit down on the gauze while inhaling? I realize there is no way to 100% guaruntee I won't get dry socket by doing this. I also realize smoking is not suggested and I shouldnt do it. I am going to, regardless, because I am stressed and in pain and I'm wondering what the best way to do this is, to atleast attempt NOT to get dry socket in the process?

I got an xray from my dentist with a dark area under the #18 moler. The tooth does not hurt and can sence hot and cold. Endodntist could not find cracks and have no fillings in that tooth.Facial/mouth surgeon says still could be a dead tooth or a cyst. Recommends doing root canal anyway and if tooth is dead then problem solved if not then surgery to remove poss. cyst. He claims if he does surgery 1st he will more than likely kill the tooth anyway and i will have to get root canal done. Sooo im not sure just looking for answers curious???

I chipped a tiny piece of my front tooth with a coffee mug yesterday and although it's not very visible, I can feel the roughness.. is there anything I can do to smooth it down, short of going to the dentist? It's not bad enough for me to pay for the visit.

recommending capping all her front teeth and several back teeth and sedating her for the procedure. i am worried about the sedation and also putting caps on the teeth seems a bit much since she will be loosing those teeth soon anyway. he is also wanting to cap them with silver instead of natural caps. i'm also concerned about treatment from other kids if she has silver caps because kids can be so cruel and she will still have the caps when starting school. i really think maybe a second opinion would not be a bad idea. just need some input on this. thanks

I am an adult (23) who has had braces for about 3 months now. I recently noticed what looks like a small (not deep) crack on the surface of one of my front teeth starting from around the area of the braces.

Ok, I went and got a wisdom tooth extracted this morning. I feel better but I am scared to eat anything!!! I am also scared about taking the gauze out. They told me that I would have to be careful as not to loosen the clot forming in the socket or I will be in pain. I am so scared that is going to happen. How do I start feeling more comfortable about it and quit worrying so much about it? And when should I be able to eat without worry?? Thanks!!

Any advice from anyone who has had this procedure and can give me any suggestions on how to properly care for this and avoid extra pain or dry sockets would be great. I am in excruciating pain currently, cannot use a straw, have fat cheeks, and am forbidden from smoking. I have not eaten in just about 2 full days and am terrified to do so. I have been instructed to wash with salt water every 30 minutes. Help!

Has anyone tried Invisalign? How long does it take to work...longer/shorter than braces, about the same time? Is it really unnoticeable like they claim? Approximately how much does it cost? I'm assuming insurance wont cover, is that right? Any info would be helpful
