I have been in severe pain for 2wks now, where I dont sleep, cant eat, or anythingelse. I was trying not togo until my 2nd trimester but I could not take the pain. My ob sent a letter of what the dentist could do. When I went he took a ex-ray with a double vest and discovered I had a severe infection and needed a tooth pulled. I went today and had It done, with NO ephrin-ephrin. My concern is has anyonelse had exrays done in there first trimester and had work done in the first trimester and everything turn out to be fine? (key word, first trimester) I just worry as anyone would.

I had to have an implant done. I paid the DDS who put in the implant just over $2000 and insurance paid $900. That brings total cost to about $3000. My general DDS is now charging $400 for tissue conditioning, $800 for the post and $800 for the crown. This seems a little much. Total price is now $5000 for one tooth (out of pocket approx. $3200)! I guess my question is "if we suppose an implant should cost around $3500, is this price before or after insurance payments?"

I'm not a dentist, but I believe that dentists in North America and Europe count the teeth in different ways. Is that so and if yes, why?

Ok, so I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Nov. 6. Three days later. My mouth and jaw is hurting the same if not worse. The dentist gave me Darvocet-N 100 and it only kills the pain for about 15 minutes! That leaves over 3 hours with being in pain and not being able to take anything. I can barely eat anything. Even mashed potatoes hurt! This can't be normal, can it? How long will this pain last?

I'm currently doing my pre-reqs for Dental Hygiene, so right now i'm being trained as a Dental Assistant. I think i'm doing pretty good at learning and keeping up, but it seems so stressful sometimes. The doctor is happy one minute and the next he's stressed and i feel like i'm doing something wrong. Plus he likes to talk about how expensive all of his equiptment is. Is it normal for Dental offices to be this stressfull, how is it working as a Dental Assistant/ Hygienist?

I don't smoke, but I do drink tea and coffee. I realize that will cause the overall color of the teeth to stain, but would it cause black lines to form on the teeth and between the teeth?

My Grandfather had false teeth, so did my Grandmother, yet I cannot afford them at £800. Why is this? And why does my dentist charge £28 to look at my teeth every six months?
Why do I have to see a seperate hygienist to have my teeth cleaned costing a further £28. There are no NHS dentists much cheaper than this. Why is this? Is it a bit of a scam?

I have been a heavy tea drinker for over 20 years. About 5 years ago I started seeing a new dentist, and within a couple years, I started getting black stains on my teeth - usually between the teeth and close to the gumline. I tried everything to remove the stains, but I can't, so every time I go to the dentist, they pick it away. I never used to get these kinds of stains on my teeth before I started seeing this dentist. I'm wondering if it is possible he picked too hard with his metal pick, and somehow scratched away my enamel. I think that if the enamel is removed from a tooth, it becomes very easy to stain, and maybe that's why I'm getting these stains all of a sudden.

I am 14 years old and i just got braces... My whole mouth is sore and the numbing stuff they gave me didn't help that much. If you have a way to lower the pain, it would be greatly appriciated.

Also, I have some cement or glue on the chewing surface of one of my teeth. Will this flake off? I had my braces on nearly 24 hours ago...

I have very bad receding gums that are red, bleed, and puffy. I haven't been to the dentist in about 4 years due to no insurance. Anyone ever heard of Vita-myr as a natural remedy to help your gums? Does it work? Is there any suggestions on toothpastes, remedies, etc. to heal bleeding gums?? PLEASE HELP!

My daughter needs braces. From what I've been able to determine thus far, a dentists price is 10% to 15 % brace cost and the rest markup for his services. Can anyone with current experience in my area recommend a GOOD, CHEAP dentist. My goal is to solve her problem, not buy the dentist a vacation cruise.
They seem to really lock the market from what I understand. You can't get a comparison, unless you pay each one for an office visit. Thx for any personal experience answers.

I just recently had my lower wisdom teeth pulled. I have stitches in the back of my mouth and one side kinda hurts but it's not too bad. The other side however (over the past 12 hours) has been increasing in pain. the pain seems to be running down into my jaw. I think it's probably a dry socket, being as there is a blood clot covering the side that doesn't hurt (which is normal), but the other side doesn't look the same. I can't see a blood clot. So I was wondering, if there is anything I can do right now. My dentist office isn't open yet, and it's really becoming painful.
