Here is an important WARNING.

I used Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush rinse, completely in accordance with the instructions (rinse full strength for 60 seconds, maximum twice a day, just before brushing).

After a couple of weeks, my teeth got a little brighter ... but then ... suddenly a couple of my molars got VERY SENSITIVE to anything cold or sweet. I did a little research, and found out the active ingredient in the rinse (Hydrogen Peroxide) causes this side effect in many people. It is harsh on your tooth enamel and can tweak nerves that lie just under your tooth enamel.

I stopped using the product right away, and within a week, the sensitivity luckily went away.

I would be very cautious about using any teeth whitening products. Tooth sensitivity and gum damage/irritation are common side effects. Some gum damage is not reversible - scary! BEWARE! DO RESEARCH!

Oh God, I tried the ALL...and most of them work a little bit. The strips, the tray, the paste...gag...all of them do about the same. I FINALLY coughed up the $380 and had a professional "Laser ZOOM Whitening" last week. I tell you, it is beautiful!!! You only have to refresh it once a year, and it's permanent. I went 9 shades lighter (and I'm in my 50's)! My teeth look like pearls. I probably spent that much on buying over the counter crap. They also made me a personalized tray for my yearly refresh. I'm extremely happy with it...slept through the whole 2 hours! LOL Godloveya.

Any whitening system approved by the ADA is safe and effective.
The most popular OTC whiteners are the rembrandt whitening system or the Colgate whitening strips. Sensitivity to these products vary as everyone is different. Coffee, dark soda and some foods will affect the individuals results.
