Has anyone had one on one of your front teeth? If so, how was it? Did it hurt? The dentists says no but they are not me...I have a porceline crown on it and it's absested so now I'm doing a root canal to get it healed. I want to go to work right after, is it wise to do so? I'm scared!

Well, the reason your tooth is abscessed is because the nerve has died and an infection (abscess) has set in around it. What the root canal does is remove the dead nerve so it won't become infected again. I've had 2 on the front and they didn't hurt me at all but if you're worried about it, just take 2 ibuprofen before your appointment. I returned to work after mine but like someone else said, you will have a fat lip for a few hours! I was numb up to my eye but it faded! You'll be fine. Good luck!

Usually for a front tooth, there should not be any pain. You might feel some kind of stinging sensation from the root canal filling but not really pain. Ask your dentist if you'll need antibiotics and something for pain, you'll probably nee this. The procedure should not hurt, just go after work.

Everyone different! i had two root canals on the front teeth and it didn't hurt a bit at the dentist or afterwards i took a day off work though just to chill :-) However i had root canal done on my molar recently and that was hurting like hell for like day and night! But Ibuprofen every 4 hours took care of that!

The worst part (for me) is the novacaine shots. Once that's over, it's pretty easy. Once the root canal's finished, that tooth will NEVER hurt you again. Be strong and brave & just do it!

this is where the teeth are attached to the mouth and gums by strong tissue and they hold ur teath in place you have to have your roots removed if a tooth becomes fractured and has to be removed they can stop the pain once removed

shouldn't be a problem, you'll be numb of cause, so you'll have couple of hours of 'fat' lip :)
The tooth might be sore for a couple of days, but other than that it is a straight forward procedure.
