When I open my mouth and tighten the muscles around my cheeks, they start twitching a lot... I know I have TMJ and clench my teeth at night, is this related? Or something I should be worried about?

I was asking questions about implant then I was searching the internet for more information then I found this site and I was so shocked.

http://www.silomdental.com/oneday_implant.html

The actual implant product is NobelDirect and that dental clinic is in Thailand. Then I try to find any dentist who will use this in the US but I was so shocked that there is none.

Anybody know if there's any dentist use that and anyone know if this type of implant is good? I checked out the testimonial and it seems there're people went there to do implant and it's $1700US for 1 single implant. Is it cheaper than the implant in US?

This is not kidding?

On the 14th of November, I am scheduled to have 2 teeth extracted, one is my bottom back molar (which was a root canal gone bad) and the other is an upper tooth near the front.

I was told it's going to cost me $350.00 just to be knocked out.
That doesn't include the cost for extractions.

My question is, Do I shell out $350.00 just to be knocked out?
Have any of you ever had a molar extracted without being knocked out? If so does it hurt? And how brutal are the dentists while doing this procedure? Is the noise to much to bare?

Help!!!!

My daughter is a dental assistant student and will soon graduate. She is working free for a dentist now, for experiance, and he ask her if she had a job offer yet. She likes it there but has heard that one lady there has been there for 9 years and hasnt gotten a raise yet, do dentists do that, or do they genetally give raises as the cost of living goes up? I told her to take the job if he asks, for a good reference on a resume. it will give her good experiance for now, and I can keep her in town for a bit longer.

I got a few crowns about four months ago and since then the gums directly above them have been tender and dark. I got braces about a month after this. Everything was fine until about three weeks ago when the gumline just above the crowns became inflamed. I went to the dentist because i thought I had gingivitis but he said according to the x-rays everything looked fine. He thinks I may have a small gap or hole between the crown and my gum. I was given a prescription for pain relievers and antibiotics even though he said they won't do much. He said that the periodontist may have to cut parts of my gum out and my gums might inflamed due to plaque getting trapped in my gums. He said that I may have to get the crowns redone.
Do you think this is something to be dealt with asap or can it wait a month? What do you think is happening and what might happen if I do nothing but brush three times a day, floss daily, use Crest Pro-Health Rinse daily and use a flouride rinse daily?

I live in Charlotte, NC and would like to become a model for cosmetic denistry, in particular the "teeth in an hour" technique. I am sure there are dentist who are considering using this method and need someone to practice on. I would be willing to travel. I have seen the surgery on nobel biocare web page. The surgery costs 25,000.00!! I would never be able to afford that amount as I am on disability. I would like to return to work but am afraid my present smile would impede an already nerve racking process. Please help if you can.

My jaw locks up every now and then. It locks up on my right side and I can’t open my mouth all the way. I learned to avoid chewing gum because it gets my jaw tired and then locks up. But it just got like it again, from laying down on that side.

Any ideas how to stop this or what to do when it gets like that?

I had my wisdom teeth taken out on the 2nd last week and now I'm worried if that I might have some food or I'm messing around with my self- dissolving stitches.

There's something looks like a white string sticking out of my hole and I think that it's food that has gotten trapped down there. I can move it around but when I pull on it, it won't come out but it will move side to side.. I have tried the syringe and rinsing my mouth out, but with no luck. Should I contact the surgeon and what do you guys think it is?

I have a mild gum infection and next month, I start my first treatment for it. I have now been vigorously using my new electronic toothbrush on my teeth as well as flossing twice every day. My mom bought a thingy of listerine to gargle with. My question is:

...does listerine lessen the severity of a gum infection? My dad said it would but I'm not so sure (heck my dad isn't even a dentist).

Can I also ask the dentist to use novocaine for my treatment?

The dentist told me crown maybe the way to go if I want strength for my broken teeth. Then he mentioned that because I've less teeth structure drilling, vibration may sometime cause root canal then I may need root canal treatment. And I asked him what he will know then he said there're serious of test, like cold sensitive test, and some other test that I forgot.. Is he rite and honest?

Also earlier someone suggested that I check with an expert about evaulation on dental implant since it last 30+ years or a lifetime I guess? Because in each or 5 or 10 years then I will need another root canal and cap maybe. So maybe it's better to do some sophiscated way to relief worry about the future.

Also the teeth which is broken has misalignment and those the rod which goes to the bone has to follow the same root direction of my teeth? Because my teeth sticks out a little and moved to the rite. Can the dentist put the rod in direction that will not misalign and same direction as other teeth?

I have very sensitive teeth and I found out that getting lumineers or veneers will help me. They told me that the dentist have to "scratch" the tooth to put the veneers. If that is the case, does that mean that the veneer will stay put for ever? Will that damage the thoot permanently? I also found out that the Lumeneers are as thin as a contact lens and that the dentist doesn't need to scratch the theet.... but will it stay put? will it break because it's so thin? If there is a dentist out there reading this please help me. I need to know before I spend all my money.. I know both cost a lot.

I haven't been to a dentist in a few years, but I think I might need braces. My teeth have hurt alot lately. What kinds of braces are there? Are most affordable? I don't think my parents are really going to pay alot of extra money for the invisiligne.

For more than two months, I had alot of pain under a tooth and had the dentist pull it out even though he couldn't find anything wrong with it. X-rays showed nothing wrong. He was ready to call an oral surgeon or declare it Neuralgia. Now, it's four days after extraction, and I can actually feel something hard and sharp with my tongue. I'm at work, and don't have access to a hand-held mirror until I get home. Could the cause of my two months of pain be a third tooth trying to pop through my gum? I've heard about some people getting a third set of teeth. I am 54! I just spent thousands of dollars on veneers covering some of my teeth. Would I have to remove everything to let my third set of teeth come through? Why didn't the x-rays catch them?!
