I haven't been to a dentist in a few years, but I think I might need braces. My teeth have hurt alot lately. What kinds of braces are there? Are most affordable? I don't think my parents are really going to pay alot of extra money for the invisiligne.

If your teeth are out of alignment or occlusion, it could be the cause of your pain. It could also be decay or gum disease. Only a dentist will be able to tell you.

Braces come in a few main types: metal brackets with wires, clear brackets with metal wires, clear brackets with tooth-colored wires, lingual (placed on the inside of your teeth, and clear aligners like Invisalign.

All types are expensive, from just under $3000 and on up, depending on the type and the dental office you go to. Braces take a lot of time for the dentist, the appliances aren't cheap, additional education is required of the dentist and staff, lab fees in the case of Invisalign.

Think about it this way: a dentist is going to have to make time in the schedule for you once a month or more for 1 - 3years. That isn't cheap.

If you have Dental Insurance it may pay for Invisalign, mine did there are all sorts of types. the standard and they have clear ones and ones that attach to the back of the teeth instead of in front, call an Orthodontist and find out what your options are and teeth hurting probably has nothing to do with needing braces, you should go to your dentist to find out what the problem is

If you have not been to the dentist for a few year your teeth may hurt because you have cavities that need to be filled. When a cavity has been left too long a root-canal or removal of the tooth may be necessary.
