Ask a phamacist. There are pain-relieving products made for this purpose. Orajel or Anbesol might help you. Or take an aspirin or tylenol (whatever you would take for a headache) That will help also.

Lots of oral pain medication available at your pharmacy to help till you can see a dentist. Most dentists are very good about fitting somebody in with a fast appointment when they have a situation like this. Also, just keep the area as clean as you can. If it hurts to brush after eating, use some Listerine to swish. If you've got any jagged edge that is rubbing on your tongue, I found it very effective to jam a bit of chewing gum over it. This'll also help keep stuff from getting into the crack, although of course, you'd have to remove it when you are eating.

Get some Oil of Cloves. Put some on a cotton ball and bite down on it where the pain is, hold it there until pain subsides. I had a really bad tooth pain about a month ago and regular pain meds wouldnt help.. neither would things like oragel..Someone on here suggested Oil of CLoves and it really works. You can get it at health food or herbal stores.

If you are over 21, get some Korbel Brandy and take a shot and swoosh it in your mouth. For about 15 seconds. Then spit it out. It will numb it for awhile. It will burn just so you know. I did that until I have a root canal and it worked better then ambesol.

back here in Scotland we try a wee dram of whiskey it might not always take the pain away but we are normally fighting after the two or three so we forget about the tooth
