Is the body inherently disfunctional, or are these teeth usefull, and why do some people believe these teeth need to be surgically removed?

I jsut turned 16, would they be coming in this soon? I heard girls get them b4 guys, is that true? it's the back of my mouth where the teeth should be and it's pretty sore and one looks swollen i can't tell. what are ways to know they are coming in other than pain and swollenness. and how does the pain feel?

I'm 23 and generally healthy, and I'd like to know what specifically to expect in my case, i.e.: Does the IV anesthesia really take a whole day to wear off?
How long will I be in pain and will have to take the pain meds?
How long will I be unable to talk (I have to go back to work after 2 days)?
How long until I'll be able to eat solid food again?

My oral surgeon was rather short on detail and just mentioned that I'll be "uncomfortable for a few days", before he bustled off to see the other 12 thousand patients he apparently had scheduled for that hour.
Needless to say I'm looking for a little more information than that...

I'll appreciate it if anyone who's had a similar surgery can answer my questions and give me any other relevant information or advice.
Thanks

I am ruining my teeth because I grind them in my sleep. I tried using my night guard and I wake up with my teeth hurting and feeling as though they've shifted. I need help!

On 1 side of my mouth the gums/cheeck touch the wisdom tooth. Usually it isn't a terrible problem.

However, occasionally it swells up making is hard to close my mouth, difficult to brush and hard to eat.

I brush and eat carefully and do my very best to keep the space between the wisdom tooth and gum free of anything. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening, or more importantly is there anything I can do to reduce the swelling and discomfort when it does happen?

Going to a dentist probably isn't an option as I do not have insurance and am unwilling to pay huge amounts of money.

i have a few questions that i need to ask but my oral surgeon is an old grump and all he can say when i ask him questions is "did you watch the video?" half of my qs arent on the video and the ones that are have like 3 different answers to them.

1. i have an infection in both sides of my lower jaw where my wisdom teeth are ( will it make me hurt more than normal when he cleans it out?) and when he cleans it out, will it feel like a broken bone?

2. when they "clean out the infection" do they drill out the infected bone?

3. will my jaw be more prone to break?

4. how do they "wire your mouth shut"? i mean what do they do?

my husband had his out, but he didnt tell me anything about it because he says "its not important" but it is to me, because im scared. will it hurt when i wake up? is it possible to wake up in the middle of it? im getting the iv sedation.

My dentist says that she has to do it, but she was unclear about the pain factor. She said I don't need anesthetic, but I don't trust her! I'm freaking out here!

Many dentist offices that I have visited has had A LOT of different " correct" ways to brush your teeth. I just would like to know if the correct way is up, and down, left, and right, or if there is any other " correct" way to brush your teeth. I also spend about 15 min. brushing mine. Is that good, or bad?

Should I ask my dentist to repair my dental work with no fee. He put fillings in 10 of my teeth less than a year ago and they've all fallen out since then. This was a horrible, painful experience and I hate that I have to go through this again so soon. How long are fillings supposed to last? I know people who have them for years. Was his work faulty???
