I heard girls get them b4 guys, is that true? it's the back of my mouth where the teeth should be and it's pretty sore and one looks swollen i can't tell. what are ways to know they are coming in other than pain and swollenness. and how does the pain feel?

Have someone look in the VERY back of your mouth, or use a mirror and a flashlight. You can also compare the swollen areas to the non-swollen areas to find out. You could be getting your wisdom teeth, age varies on this type of thing.

Of course, the best thing to do is to go to the dentist and have them take an x-ray.

No, girls don't get them before guys. My sister and I had ours extracted on the same day, and she's 4 years older than me.

Use your tongue and feel if there's anything growing from the gums.
The pain is different for everyone, my gums didn't get that sore or swollen.
Go to your dentist, only they can refer you to an oral surgeon.

I got mine in and out by the time I was 15. Some girls don't get theirs until they are 18. If it's swollen if most likely has a tooth under it. It doesn't hurt at all having them, you just have them taken out so future problems don't occur.

Congratulations your wisdom teeth are coming in! You are the right age my daughter had hers out at your age. Sometimes cold helps the swelling. Soak tea bags in ice water and wring them out and place them on the swelling. Ibuprofen is good for inflamation read the directions on the bottle and don't exceed the dosage. This is something we all have to go through. Good luck!

Sometimes wisdom teeth never come in.

Some people ahve their wisdoms come in with no problems at all.

If the back of your jaw is sore, swollen and tender for no apparent reason, it could be your wisdoms making their presence known.

Sounds like they are. Get an x-ray done. If there isn't room for them to come in, you can end up with some serious problems later. I had to have mine cut out. I'm glad I didn't wait though. My wife did, and it was worse for her.
