My daughter had orthognathic surgery which is what it is called. Going to India as the poster suggested wouldn't work in this case. Braces must be worn first and the teeth in perfect alignment before surgery can take place. The orthodontist and oral surgeon must work hand in hand. My daughter's smile is perfect and it wasn't painful believe it or not so she says. When you first have this done the mouth goes temporarily numb and by the time the numbness leaves you are healed and of course no more pain. If you find a skilled surgeon who does this type of surgeries often your chances of success are greater. My daughter's surgeon performs many of these and even teaches about this surgery at the hospital. She barely swelled or bruised. Six months after her surgery her braces were removed and she has a hollywood smile!

Get your full dental work and jaw surgery in India.Dental Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic/dental surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star .
My cousin got her full dental work and jaw surgery for the cross bite and the overbite problem done there and she is more than very happy with the results.sHe is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 30% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her.hope this helps.I think she paid only 7000$ for the full dental surgery for which she was quoted 19000 $ in USA.

I have known a number where the surgery was done. It was expensive and left the result was not always 100%.
Since the 1980's the source of troubles have been reduced! You will have a better result than the people I knew who had it done 20 years ago.

I was wondering about that because when I yawn sometimes, my jaw shifts and the joint cracks, like you would crack your nuckles. I'm really interested in this answer. Would this operation fix my problem, and would it be covered by healthcare in canada?
