Had braces, been there. You might ask him to not tighten them so much each time. Motrin is good for the pain, but your pain shouldn't be that bad, nor for that long after each visit. Ask him something scarry if you want him to take notice. "If you tighten them this much, aren't you setting me up for tooth resorption?" That ought to get his attention, and he sure doesn't want that. (It means that he is moving the tooth thru the bone so quickly, the roots get short -- years down the road, they fall out or are prone to lots of problems. Have heard of a case or two, where the person lost ALL of their teeth!!!!!, and they sued the ortho, and won, but you don't want to win, you want to walk away with a killer smile... Tell him so...)

What i do is THE MINUTE U GET OUT OF THE CHAIR CHEW GUM or TAKE 2 TYLONOL B4 U GO!! That is wut i do. also avoid eating super cold things like snow cones and ice. It hurts the nurves and ,makes it worse. Try to stay busy and not think about it. Thanx and i hope it works!

BTW: Dont ask them to not tighten them so much...it slows down the process and u will end up having to have braces longer!

Yeah, braces are a prob. I would suggest taking some Ibuprofin or Advil, and if that doesn't help.....uh, call the orthodontist?

Sorry, that probably wasn't much help...?
