I am a Dental Assistant returning to work after being out of the loop for about 3 years. I have been offered a job with a General Dentistry Office. I have not really worked in this type of practice , only remember going through some clinicals during Dental School. I really need a list of the materials needed for dental procedures performed in a General Denistry Office.

I put a pea size on my brush, while my boyfriend fills the whole top of his brush with toothpaste. I think he uses WAY too much toothpaste on his brush (we're already out and I just bought a tube recently).

I use to put off brushing my teeth everynight. Now I'm trying to get back into the routine of brushing them every night. But it hurts brushing near the gums and they bleed the color of red strawberries. I'm trying to put up with it and hope for a good result. I can't afford dental.

I have to get spacers. My older sister who has braces has had them before, and told me they hurt like crap!

Do they? I get them tomorrow morning at 11 AM.

I am 18 years old. Since I was little, I had always had a slight open bite problem (not an extreme case though). When I was younger (13-14), I used braces to straighten my teeth. In addition, I had to use some little rubber bands attached to the braces so that the upper and lower teeth could meet and therefore the open bite could be corrected. At first, everything seemed perfect, since the open bite apparently was fixed. The braces were taken off and for the first month nothign occured. Then, the upper and lower teeth started drifting apart and the open bite problem appeared again. I wanted to die. So, I decided to use braces (w/ rubber bands) again to correct the problem. The dentist said it will only be for about three months, but I ended up using them for about a year and a half. The braces were taken off and everything seemed normal. But I just discovered that the open bite has returned. What can I do. Is there any other way of fixing this? I am not willing to use braces again. Thx

I'm only 15, but I'm missing my front teeth and some in back already and the rest aren't that good. My grandma says bad teeth and gums run in the family. Can it really be from bad jeans? My teeth were never very white no matter how much I brush, so I'm used to keeping my mouth closed when I smile.

My cousin is about to lose one of her front teeth. Her gums look kind of swollen, though, and my mom says that they've changed color a bit, like darkened... Is this just normal or should we probably go see a dentist?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I have to get braces soon. I oringinally wanted regular braces but then I was considering getting invisable one. I am in middle school and everyone who has braces has the regular ones. Which ones work better? Can you see the invisable ones?

I hate going to dentist. I have had a number of visits where the novacaine has wore off and I could feel the pain. The last one was during a root canal while the files where in the canals and the Dentist was treating another patient. OUCH!!

Anyways, I had 2 teeth that had root canals, I did not get the crowns. The temp fillings fell out and the teeth cracked. I lost both teeth, a half a tooth at a time. I fear that there is still partial tooth under the gums and will require an excavation. They do not hurt now, but would like to smile again without the embarrasement.

Does this hurt? Including the possible implant/bridge.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday morning, and they are still bleeding a little when I rinse with salt water. Should I be worried, or is this just old blood? I am worried that I will end up with dry socket, which I am told hurts badly.
And if I do get dry socket, will I know right away or does it take a while to start hurting?

They were breastfed, no bottle, no juice, regular brushing, healthy diet, city water after I filtered it. I had tiny holes in my enamel when I was little. Could this be hereditary? I'm concerned because it's in their front teeth. I'm trying to make an appointment with a dentist but many won't see babies and the others have a very three to four month wait.
Thanks I appreciate the advice.

After having my daughter 4 months ago, it seems my teeth have developed cavities. Is it because I am breastfeeding and the baby is taking my calcium?
I have been drinking lot of milk for extra calcium but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
