it will bleed a lot............and if you have local anesthesia then some of your face muscles will be like paralised but that's only for some minutes. After a few hours, maybe 2 or so, you'll completely come back to normal, and as it's only your wisdom teeth , then it won't have any impact on your appeareance. It isn't painful at all. I had my wisdows teeth removed. I mean, complete recovery may take more days but if you are just looking to look fine in your party then it's ok. Mmm,,, but maybe it wiill be a little difficult to eat if there is a lot of food served in the party. Don't worry anyway.

I think I was about 20 years old when all four of mine were taken out under general anesthesia. No emergency or anything. I just didn't have to room for them if they ever actually came in.
I gave myself a week (over spring break) to recover. The most important time was the first 3 days or so. The first day I was really out of it from being put under. I think I ended up sleeping most of that day. The pain medication made me really sick and nauseous, so I could not do anything useful at all for a couple days. It was hard to think. I can handle pain better than nausea so I stopped with the medicine and slept as much as I could.
I had easy to eat food: jello is great because if you get ill it isn't too hard on you later. Avoid things very warm or cold at first, it may hurt.
The stitches are weird. You have to be careful with them, eating took longer than usual. Also, I can't remember how long you have them, but you will probably have gauze or something like that in your mouth for a while to help with the bleeding. It was kind of annoying having to deal with that.
I didn't get incredibly swollen in the face, but I did look funny for a few days.
After the first couple of days, I was able to start doing more normal things. I just did what the doctor's told me to do and had no complications.
Good luck, I hope it goes well for you :)

The swelling will be the worst around 24 to 48 hours after the surgery, then it'll slowly resorb. In some cases, a little bluish coloration can be visible, but it disappears quickly.
Normally, the pain will last for 5 days. It will quite bearable by the third day.The procedure is totally painless itself for most people unless there are complications.
The recovery is eased with light analgesics, and normally uneventful. For the first days, you have to chew only simple food (soups, omelets, things like that) but you'll come back to normal within few days. Do not suck out of a straw - it can cause a dry socket - a complication that is quite painful.
For your work, if you're job is answering the phone, 5 days of break might not be too much. If you are working as an auto mechanic, 3 days shall be sufficient.

I have had 2 different experiences.
The non-emergency routine-type extractions took only 2 weeks to heal up.
The emergency extraction I had done (because the tooth had broken, and I was eating fries, and one crispy one went straight for the nerve and was excruciatingly painful) took 2 months before it was totally healed, and it continued to bleed for quite some time.
As the emergency extraction was done by a different dentist, I cannot vouch for whether the lengthened healing time was due to the fact that the tooth being broken was a factor, or whether it was ineptitude on the part of the dentist.

I recovered in about two or three days. My operation was probably much worse then yours. I had extra teeth growing and had those removed as well. You should be fine. I've heard of some people going to work a few hours afterwards! Its not that bad really.

About a week you should use antibiotic and painkiller pills
it may quite hard to eat hard things about a week
its real recover time about 2 weeks to3 weeks but you will feel alright after a week

It depends on how the operation goes. When my oldest brother had his removed I remember him being in miserable pain for a while (and he made sure we all knew it).
I had jaw surgery for another problem. They were supposed to remove them all during the surgery but ended up only taking 2 out. I didn't even notice them because my face was swollen and sore from the other surgery and I had demerol. I had to go back and have the other 2 taken out later and they didn't bother me at all (I just got nauseous from the anasthetic).

I had all 4 of mine out at once...they were terribly impacted and it took nearly a month before all of the swelling, stiches, soreness, ect. went away..my friend Amanda though...recovered in 2 days...blacked another friend of mines eyes when she had it done. So, I believe it depends on your teeth, the surgeon...that kind of thing. Good Luck to you though! Just remember when you are in pain...This too shall pass...works for me...

it take's about a week. it took me a week. but they give you some really good drug's so you don't hurt. some people don't have problem's and some do. like me i couldn't open my mouth for like a day or two. and i could only eat like soft stuff. the only thing i could really eat was mashed potatoe's. and it depend's on how many and if they are pulled or cut? some people's cheek's actually turn like black and blue. and you can also have your cheek's swollen up like a chipmunk. good luck !!
