Crest White strips?

Question

Can you use them with braces? Or is it senseless? By the way how do they work, and what is the approxamite cost? Thanks =D

Hiya Katie. Well, The Crest Whitening Strips is a nice and easy way of making your teeth whiter, longer. The strips contains a form of thiny layered gel with contains Fluoride - its like the fluoride which is found in toothpaste aimed at making your teeth whiter - consider fluoride to be a whitening agent per se. When applied for 7 days (2 upper and 2 lower strips per day), or likewise, your teeth becomes progressively whiter, which lasts for 12 months. Apply the strip to the top and bottom rows of teeth and leave on for 30 minutes at least. Its invisible too, so no one will see it, so you can wear it anywhere. In terms of braces - its best that you do not use the strips on the braces, as the metal of the braces may corrode / become whitened by the gel, and leaves a discontinuity of white colour on the teeth. However, if you have Invisalign braces, remove the braces, apply the strips for 30 minutes, remove strips, then wear the braces again - no harm caused. In some stores it may cost $25 to $30 / $35 depending on the retailer. *smiles*

If you use them with braces, your teeth will get whiter, but then when you remove the braces, there will be a small yellow circle in the center of each tooth. So... I dont recommend doing it. It's like asking if you should go to the tanning salon with a tennis racket on your face. Sure, go ahead, but you'll look like a checkerboard afterwards.

Wal-Mart makes the same thing but much cheaper.

I can't imagine that you could use them with braces and I'm not sure why you would want to.
