This is a totally hypothetical question.

My mom broke her bones 4 times. I never broke a bone. But I asked her what it felt like. She never answered cause she couldn't explain it or put into words. Yet, she makes pizza with a broken arm (in a cast.) so Im guessing it doesn't hurt THAT much.

But I imagine having a broken bone hurts like ALOT.

A few of my friends said they had it and it did hurt. But afterwards, they talk about it like, meh. It wasn't too bad.

I have done research on the net, and there are some people whom ahve broken their bones like 10 times and brag about it.

So, my question is....if someone breaks their bone. Do painkillers have any effect in nullifying or eliminating the pain?
And how effective is the painkiller in removing the pain? By how much? 50%? 20%? 70%? Some people claim that the painkillers don't work very much. And some people claim they felt barely any pain. Alot of people I know bragged that they had broken bones and didn't feel any pain.

12yr. old son got really REALLY sun burned. We were in mexico for 2 whole weeks, swimming almost every day. The skin is all ashy and peeling, literally there is dead skin just sitting on the layer through out his entire body.

What can I do to fix this, get his skin back to norma and ease the pain?

i was wondering if i have the signs of depression.

-Irritable
-always sad/crying alot
-very stressed
-drinking (i am 17)
-grades are slipping
-getting in a lot of trouble with my parents
-thinking about jumping in the lake so i would get hypothermia and my parents would feel bad
-tried to cut myslef but i cant go through with these thing.
-i do think about suicide a lot but i cant go through with it

i told my parents that i thought that i should see a therapist and they saaid they didn't want to pay for one and i don't want to go to m counselor because talking about this stuff is embarrassing... WHAT SHOULD I DO AND DOES IT SOUND LIKE I MAY BE DEPRESSED????????????

She says that it fells like a contraction. She says it feels like it is pulling at her uteris. She is not pregnant. She has a 3 year old so she compares the feeling to that of contractions. Also they come and go but today she said there has been a few intense ones. She is not pregnant we do know that!!! We have scheduled a Dr. appt. with a gynecolist but it is in two weeks.

I have a heart problem, bad valves, irregular heart beat, congestive heart faliure, and am on 5 different meds for all that.

I dont sleep well, and am cutting out all my caffeine. I need to find something to give me a pick me up, that wont screw with my sleep any more than it already is, and wont effect my heart rhythms.

Any suggestions??

I started having pain on the left side of my groin area the past few days. When walking normally I rarely notice it. However when I move or twist in a way that pulls my balls at all, I get this bad pain in the right side of my groin. This might be to TMI but when I pull my scrotum myself I definitely feel the pain. I recently started doing weight training. After doing some weight training exercises using the Preacher, I now feel like my left arm is numb.

It gave me a really bad pain and numbness when I did the exercises. But I did it, with pain to have a better body.

Is this harmful to me? shall I carry-on with weights?

Can someone please help me?

I am a caregiver of an elderly blind lady. She has not always been blind. She is also hard of hearing. She doesnt like to watch tv or listen to the radio. When I am there she LOVES to talk. My problem is I always feel bad when i leave her because I know she will just spend the rest of the day sitting around, not knowing what to do, and feeling sad. She is always saying how lonely she gets. She lives with her daughter so I cant get her a pet for company. She is pretty confined to her home. She has had a broken back in the past and it is hard for her to walk for very long distances. My question is can anyone think of anything that I can get for her to do when I am not there. She is very old, but still pretty with it mentaly. Please help. I love this lady and i spend as much extra time with her as i can, but i have a family of my own to care for!

.Some run across my cheeks (inside my mouth) in sort of a slightly puffed up line. Several days ago, the left side of my mouth began to really hurt. It almost feels like when wisdom teeth come in (I have had them removed). Now the back left side of my mouth is swollen. I cant see in my mouth so I took pictures. I found that I do have an ulcer-like sore in my mouth and that the surrounding areas are puffy (kind of like when a spider bite puffs up). I uploaded the pictures here:

What is wrong with me? How can I make it go away? I can't swallow or eat without it being extremely painful. I have Ulcer Ease mouthwash but it doesn't seem to be helping.

there was something loose on a tooth (premolar) in my lower jaw and i pulled it out and it ended up being a piece of tooth. it's very little but the tooth is now missing a small piece near where it holds intself to the gum. cavity is surrounding the tooth. what would the dentist reccommend? i'm so scared...my mom isn't making the dentist appointment fast enough. what would happen? please help.
