I have a heart problem, bad valves, irregular heart beat, congestive heart faliure, and am on 5 different meds for all that.

I dont sleep well, and am cutting out all my caffeine. I need to find something to give me a pick me up, that wont screw with my sleep any more than it already is, and wont effect my heart rhythms.

Any suggestions??

elimination of caffeine is a excellent move, you will sleep less, better and wake refreshed - thats what i notice - decaf aint that bad - it also acts as a derectict which makes you go number 1's alot - before your body has time to absorb things like vitimans.......if you give yourself a water addcition it will help alot also

consult your doctor, i like vitamins and additives

not sure about one of your answers it looks spammy to me?

also the mediterainian method of two short sleeps per day is documented to increase life span, i like a 2 hour nap day time and 4-6 hours at night

Daily excercising, nothing too strenuous, perhaps a walk, will make you feel great physically and mentally.

I have some nasty health problems right now too, and I notice a big difference when I take my daily vitamin concoction. It's water with a diet cordial in it, with berocca performance (vitamin B) and supradyn (multivitamin) effervescent tablets dissolved in it. It tastes like sherbet. I use it to wash down an iron and folic acid tablet and an omega 3 capsule. I got lazy and forgot to take it for about 4 days, and boy did I notice the difference. Ask your doc before taking the iron though, as it may make your blood clot more easily, which is contra-indicated in some heart conditions.

I've still got to have my caffiene fix every morning or I get a headache, but I have changed to decaf for the rest of the day. If you use an instant coffee, nescafe gold decaf tastes like the real thing.

So sorry to hear that you're feeling so awful. I hope things pick up for you. Lizzie :o)

Your condition is likely related to a low oxygen blood saturation (SpO2). CHF is the enlargement of the left ventricle due to needing to pump against increased systemic blood pressure. Bad valves will cause a decreased heart stroke volume meaning you will have less oxygenated blood being pumped out into your system. You may also have sleep apnea, which causes an even greater oxygen desaturation. I suggest that you NOT go off your meds by yourself, see your doctor pronto. Do not look for a caffeine substitute, because it will have a similar effect. The best and only way to overcome the sleep deprivation is to get a good nights sleep. 25 mg of Benadryl may work plus talk to your Dr. about this as well, it may be a medication side-effect.

B-12 as a sublingual liquid worked great for me. I don't have all your health problems, but I did suffer from lack of energy and sleep problems. Since I take this stuff every day (half the suggested dose) I've been sleeping good and my energy level has increased considerably. My mood as well.

And magnesium is supposed to help arrhythmia. It's a mood enhancer, also.

Try it. It can't really hurt ya.

Hope this works for you. Good luck.

There milk thistle. Sounds to me like you need a liver cleansing. Over time we tax our live when we need more meds, takes out our energy, sleep becomes impaired. It will take about three days to see the difference. Then find something called Livertone. It is a deeper cleansing.

Tiredness could be from your heart. I would go get a check up. You may need your meds changed.

I would first look into your diet and any appropriate exercise that you can do in your condition. I would suggest finding out if maybe you need to get yourself out of a stressful lifestyle.
