because ive heard that fact (or myth) in several places and i was wondering if there was any truth behind it. people say that the lice prefer clean hair because it is easier to crawl in. :/

Lice don't care, they do not discriminate, every head is fair game to them. I forgot---Darn it! :-)
Lice will float from one head to another in a chlorine treated pool. Chlorine does not kill head lice. So do you really think they care how clean one head is over another? That should get a few more people to wear swim caps. Sorry but it is true.

Lice prefer clean hair and stay mostly the nape of the neck and behind the ears. Nevertheless we still have to keep our hair clean.

Lice don't care about the hair...It's the blood they are after...
People don't have to be "dirty" to have lice...

yes, they can move around easier and nest easier, but greasy/dirty hair is how they get in there because naturally when your hair is dirty it hasnt been washed, but if you're hair is clean and you're in the wrong place at the wrong time... livin la vi da lice

They dislike clean hair more- and coloured hair as they can't grip onto the strands so easily...

phathom, yes. i washed my hair earlier tonight with gasoline trying to kill them. that didn't do it so there's more of them to eat---mmmmm (tasty treat)
