I have been suffering from depression for more than two and a half years now, however I was only diagnosed of this about 2 months ago. I am 20 and am studying at uni. I have been taking medication and been doing a lot of things to help me get better e.g. praying, cycling, eating better, sleeping better. I am beginning to enjoy what I used to before. So it is improving a lot, I feel so much more better and am beginning to enjoy life again.

Before I started suffering from depression, I feel that I did not know very much about it at all. I also did not know or understand very much about other mental illness.

My main question is:
What do people, who have never suffered from depression or have never had a close friend/relative suffering from depression, think depression is?

Also what do people who have suffered from depression or experienced depression in others think about depression... and what do they think feel about how other people who haven't suffered understand/know?

Hello,

For the past 6 months I became obsessed with clearing my ears every morning of earwax. It's hard to explain why but it always annoyed me every morning. It didnt hurt, but it made me aware of my ears too much.

Anyway, I go in really deep with the q-tip, a few times I go in so deep I feel/hear a suction type sound and feeling.

Now for the past month or so I am walking around with a lot of headaches and dizzyness. When I lay down, I feel pressure in my head. I feel I might have damaged myself from either going in to far, or by not keeping my ear wax.

I cant afford a doctor right now, could I have done some kind of brain damage? I get insurance in a few months, but can I wait?

Thank you,
Adam

Good morning! Please take the time and check out my website. I'm a distributor and customer for Juice Plus. This wonderful product provides fruits and vegetables in caplet form. We as americans are not getting enough. I'm also taking the Juice Plus shake as well. Which helps me with weight loss. I fix a Juice Plus fruit smoothie every morning. It's also great as a late night snack. Please forward this important information to your friends, co workers and family. Thank you. www.juiceplus.com/+tc84591

I could be depressed enough to slash my wrists but then I hear a song that can bring me out of it. Usually it's a pretty nasty blues guitar riff but it doesn't have to be, it could just be a really inspired piece of music or the beauty of someone's voice and I can feel like my whole day is turned around for the better. Is it possible that music can release endorphins? Does anyone else feel this way?

I am a 41 year-old woman in good health and not overweight. My thyroid function is normal. I went off the pill over a year ago, and it took a good four or five months for my period to return to normal. Lately, I've been getting my period every other month (last two periods). I've read that ovaries take turns ovulating each month, which might imply one of my ovaries isn't functioning properly. What are some of the reason for this? I just got my period today (after about 50 days). The weird thing is that a month ago, when I was supposed to get my period, it did seem like I was ovulating, but the period never came.

I also realize I could be perimenopausal, but no one else in my family ever had this kind of issue at this age (and I've heard that menopause symptoms are somewhat familial).

I do have an appointment to see the doctor next week but am just feeling a bit anxious and am wondering if anyone has some insights.

My grandmother used to say they came from using too much salt, but I think she was just trying to get me to use less salt. But they are annoying, and take a long time to go away. I keep rubbing them against my teeth, especially the broken ones. They are sort of like pimples, but I can't squeeze them. What are they and what can I do to get rid of them and/or prevent new ones from forming?

Here's the thing. I went into the dr yesterday because I was concerned about 2 bumps that I have on my head. It kind of feels like they could be in-grown hairs but they are PAINFUL! It feels like they are bruised. It hurts to the point it gives me a headache whenever it is touched. The dr looked at my head and said that I had a skin infection but didn't think it was necessary to test me for MRSA. Instead, she gave me an antibiotic that is to clear up that strain.
After going home and thinking about it, I wonder if I should tested. I do work in a school district and go to numerous buildings.
What should I do, just take the meds and not worry or get a second opinion?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!
