It isn't a check for AIDS. It is a check for HIV, AIDS is a condition caused by the HIV virus.

The only one that I know of is the type that puts the "piece" in your mouth, absorbs your saliva but the results do take a few days. you can get these free and under confidentiality. I will tell you if you think you are actually positive I would not recommend the County Health Dept. They claim that you are anonymous however they require a "unique Identifier" usually containing the last four S.S. digits and the year you were born which they claim is for identifying your results only but in reality can be filtered down to find out who the person is if they so choose to do so in the future for some other reason

There is no test for HIV/AIDS that gives you conclusive information within five minutes. However, depending on the test you take (fluid and/or blood) you could easily get results within 20 minutes.
My Orasure Test I took a few months ago did a simple swab along my gumline and I have a negative result within 20 minutes. And yes, they are accurate and effective. Some tests may take a couple days, depending on the type of test you are requesting. Blood tests are usually sent to a lab and processed within 2-3 days.

Not 5 minutes, 48 minutes in the HIV screening (for AIDS),with an EIA (Enzyme ImmunoAsay). When this screening test is positive, the Western blot serves as a supplemental test to confirm HIV positivity.

Yep they stick the needle in your arm and draw blood it takes less than 5 minutes. However you do have to wait for the results still and that takes time. If concerned don't put it off go and get checked . I'm sure you will be fine but be care full.

No, the process consists of lab work, so it's impossible to receive a result in under 5 minutes.
