It can tell you if you have Cervical cancer. Abnormal cells are often pre-cancerous. Cancerous cells should show as such. The thing to keep in mind is that a biopsy, while having a high degree of accuracy, is not 100% though. If abnormal cells are shown, you will likely need a periodic follow-up.

There are different types of cervical biopsies. A colposcopy will tell the degree of the abnormality in the cells. A cone biopsy will remove the abnormal tissue. These are typically used before you actually have cancer...but when the cells are highly abnormal.

I had cervical cancer. The pap smear tells about the abnormal cells and cancer. The biopsy DEFINITELY tells if and how much cancer there is.

That is the purpose of the biopsy. The pap smear tells of irregular cells and then to further that, they do a biopsy to see if the cells are cancerous.

when you biopsy cells it will tell you if the cells are cancerous or not. If the biopsy weren't involved, it would just be like a pap- just a look around- if you know what I mean.

Both. First it will show abnormal cells and under magnification it will show exactly how abnormal.
