I was recently reading about a man who claims to have been diagnosed with a particular type of cancer (he won't say what kind) at the age of 18. He says his doctor told him he will probably not live past the age of 40.
I'm curious of what kind of cancer gives that kind of life expectancy?

Well me and my GF decided to have sex for the first time today she has had sex before but it was my first time. anyway after about 10 seconds or less of intercourse she started to bleed and alot. she told me her periods are iregular but this was bad i rushed her to a near by clinic adn they said she will be fine but then her sister called me later to say that my gf was in hospital. PLease can sone one tell me tha she will be ok i got to talk to her and she saysshe is in pain and there is nothing i can do please let me know she will be ok and if it was me let me know so i can kick my self and ry my best to help her get better...

I have gingivitis after having my teeth cleaned on Monday. It starts aching. My gum is red. What can i do to ease my anxiety and the pain? I dont get to see the dentist until Monday. There is no other option of dentist. What are some self-care?

ive had the crown for over 2 years before i got it the dentist did a root canal on the tooth. when i was eating the crown just slipped out. it was completely painless it just came off. i washed it off brushed the inside of it and checked if it would fit back in. it did it fit back in and felt the same as it did before it fell out. so would the dentist just reglue it in? or would i have to get a completely new one? also the tooth under the crown looks the same as it did before i got the permanent one so i dont think any damage was done to it. (the temp crown came off because i had to wait so long for them to schedule me in to get my permanent one)

I can eat like a horse, but i gain nothing. Is there a pill to make me bigger, or what? I'm tired of being this thin, my gf needs something to hold on to. Skin and bones is not enough for her.

I love my beautiful baby but since he was born I just hate sex. I used to enjoy it but now, all I think is that my body is less attractive, I don't like how I look and I feel like I'm not pretty anymore and my breasts are drooping and my hips are too wide and my stomach is too big? Plus we want to have one more baby but having been through the agony of childbirth once, I'm so scared to go through this again. I love my son very much but I'm afraid of the pain.
My wonderful husband still loves me but I need to get my confidence back.

I am 19 years old and in college. I started spring semester after taking the first semester off after graduating high school because my anxiety was so bad. I currently take paxil, but have been on about 4 others. they don't really help me much. I got a 3.93 gpa last semester but I am worried about the fall semester coming up. I am really smart and have everything but I feel like a failure and stay home most of the time if I'm not working. I feel better if I know I am making money. I am worried about what I will do for a career because I get anxious and feel sick every time I even think about it. I don't even know what I can do to help myself. I go to a shrink for counseling but it doesn't really help. I feel good sometimes but not much. It is making me really depressed and I am so sick of it. I feel almost like I don't want it to go away though because it always comes back worse after I ignore it for awhile. Any suggestions on what I can do to help myself?

Maybe we would be better off with private fire care ?
How about if you call the 'for profit' fire dept, and you find out that they lost your paper work, and said, please call back during regular business hours....then dail tone.!
How about a 'for profit' police dept. ? That sounds real cool !
Would criminals be able buy their way out of trouble?
Or would the criminals prey on folks not current will the police bill?
Or would 'for profit' health care mean that your family member will die on the floor of a modern hospital because of a funding issue?

I have experienced this since I was a teenager, at least. It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I can go several months to a year without noticing it at all.
But sometimes I feel like I can hear fluid coming down the back of my neck. I never told a doctor, and it doesn't really bother me, but it's strange. It sounds kind of like water going down a drain pipe.
I have some medical background, a degree in Health Information Administration and a year of nursing school, but I never heard anyone talk about anything like this.
Has anyone here in Yahoo Answers ever experienced that, or have you ever heard of it?

This is a terrible question but I am freaked out. My mother is terminal she has been without sustinence for 9 days is this unusual????? The hospice is amazed she is still alive does anyone know if this is natural Is there anything I can take her etc to help her????? Pls if anyone knows,

I live in Australia. I was given Risperidone by a psychiatrist to treat mild schizophrenia when I was 16. I continued taking it until I was 21. I am 22 now. I suffered bad side effects from the drug. I was never warned about the side effects of the drug by any of the various psychiatrists that i saw over the years. I beleive the side effects caused me to be angry and violent which ended up with me being put in prison for 9 months. I was wondering if there was any legal action I could take against the pharmeceutical company or Mental Health for not properly warning me of these side effects, especially considering my young age. I can give greater detail to you when you answer this question. Thankyou

Hi I am a 23/F, before I list my symptoms please do not tell me to go see a doctor because I know. I have finaly made an appointment & will be doing so shortly...

I have been having lower pelvic pain for months. 1st on my right side only and now it has spread to my left. It is a dull achey pain. I am also having a dull aching pain in both of my thighs & back. I have started burping & pooping (sorry!) more as well. It seems to be the worst the week or so after I have my period. I have already diagnosed myself with ovarian cancer & am going through extreme anxiety over the fact I may have it. I have finaly gave in and am going to a doctor even though I am extremely scared of anything gynocological. The symptoms seem to be getting worse. Is it likely that at age 23 I have ovarian cancer? There is no known diagnosis of it in my family. I am just so worried I am driving myself crazy. Thanks guys.

I am 13 years old and I'm currently in recovery from anorexia (with bulimic tendencies). I was just wondering if anyone else could share their experiences with me through this, it's getting really hard for me. It seems like my nutritionist has me eating so much, and I'm scared of the weight that I need to gain. Yesterday, she just added 500 MORE calories.. and i'm not even allowed to exersize.Anyway, if anyone can share their experiences or stories with me, it would be awesome. Anything is good, what it was like, how you dealt with it, how much you gained, did you get the weight back off, how you felt, how you feel now, etc. Anything! Thank you sooo incredibly much, anything is appreciated.

by asking question to people who really don't know? The only thing I can ever say is see a doctor. The only thing logical to say to me. I noticed that some people have some very serious symtoms, and some people are giving them some very dangerous advice. You can't tell somebody that is losing weight that they need more sleep. They could have cancer, be anemic or a number of serious other conditions. You may think you are helping by giving them an honest guess, but it could cost them their lives. People Go and see a doctor with your medical problems. Most of us do not qualify to answer your medical questions.

Hi, I am a 26 year old male. I'm also a hypochondriac and get scared of having diseases or conditions and such. Recently, a lady at my work had a brain anyeurism. This has scared me a lot.

I don't know much about that condition, but I am afraid to do so much research. The research I've done cites hypertension, artherosclorosis, and congential defects as causes for anyeurisms. But I'm still afraid because I don't know if it's something someone can detect before it gets worse.

I'm in good health, low blood pressure, normal cholestorol, weight is fine for my height and age, circulation is good.

I'm afraid of going to bed at night worrying about this and I'm afraid of stuff happening while I sleep and being near defensless or not as able to get help.

In a few weeks I'll have a regular dr. appt, Until then, I was thinking if there was a member of this community who could reasuure me and get rid of my fears, that would help me.
