i'm in the same boat...basically there are only a couple things we can do.
Eat protein, which means lots of fish and meat. Do weight training for max weight, minimum reps...that's basically it. You can try GNC protein shakes and that crap, but it's nasty.
As far about it not being enough for her? Man, tell her to love you for who you are...do you tell her to change who she is? She gotta learn a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

You can gain muscle mass by weight training and eating a good balanced diet. I wouldn't recommend just adding more fat to your diet. By the way the North American diet has lots and lots of protein in it already and the vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetables will give you energy to train and help your muscles grow faster (yes you need protein but the vast majority of us already get enough protein for six people)
Your body shape is your body shape. You can alter it a bit but its not healthy to alter it drastically. Be as healthy as you can but don't try to be someone who you are not.
Stay away from pills and supplements as they are not necessary and often cause unwanted side-effects. Some big beefy guys have shriveled ***** and can't even get it up from all the side-effects of their training supplements - I don't think thats what she wants.

Renee Zellweger (spelling error I'm sure) said she did doughnuts and milkshakes every day to gain for Brigette Jones' Diary. Also try to relax more. Nervousness or anxiety will make ya skinny sometimes. and ROCK ON! The bone is for the dog. The meat is for the man!!! (or woman if you prefer.)

How old are you? If you're young (ie, less than 30) then you probably have a fast metabolism, which is why you're having trouble gaining weight. You can try powdered weight gain formula sold at most health stores (like GNC)--they have lots of calories but are VERY sweet since they contain lots of sugar.

I hope you use mayo and dressings when you eat.Milkshakes are great to help you gain but the greatest help is to go to a doc and he will give you a vitamin that will help.They gave me a prenatel vitamin and it did help. Told the doc I wasn't wanting to get preg so if I did it was his fault. He just laughed but it worked.Drink Insure and that type of stuff. Lots of vitamins in it.

get you some beef meat, some tbone steak would be off the hook and back it up with some popeye spinach,and some iron suppliments...Pump up the jams with some killer jam and pancakes in the am my nizzle

work out a little bit... that way u'll at least have a muscular thin body (those are way hotter than guys that have a 12 years olds body.)

every time you dont feel hungry
drink whole milk w/ all meals
