I hear pasta makes you gain weight is this true, if it is wil it just be weight or fat and inches around your waist?
Why cant you eat pasta after 7 p.m.?

Pasta does not make you fat. What you put on it might, but generally pasta dishes are quite healthy. Of course complex carbohydrates (whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread or brown rice) are better than simple carbs (white pasta, white bread, white rice) but in general people are far too worried about carbs and not worried enough about fats and sugars.

I'm sorry Mayday but I can't agree with you. Yes carbs are metabolised faster than proteins and fats and yes unused calories get stored as fat but consider this: only 75% of the excess carb calories get stored as fat (because the body has to convert it to fat and this requires some energy) and almost 100% of excess fat calories get stored as fat (because it is already in lipid form).

All unused calories eventually get stored as fat no matter where they come from or how fast they get metabolised.

If you're not active, eat less of everything. And yes you shouldn't eat a lot at night but again why this anti-pasta crusade? I don't understand.

Its all about balance. Pasta is a healthy part of a balanced diet.

I would suggest eating any starchy food (pasta, rice) in whole-grain form. Meaning it wasn't processed w/ added sugars and refined. Carbohydrates give you energy when you need it. Just make sure to eat from the rest of the food groups. Also, keep up a regular exercise program to maintain your weight. It's usually suggested not to eat after 7 or 8pm because it can cause you to have sleeping problems and your digestive system slows while your sleeping so more calories are being stored instead of being used.

A company called Dreamfields makes real pasta that is very low in carbs and very low in calories. I enjoy their pasta at least twice a week and have been losing weight.

You can order online or you can locate the nearest store that carries their product. I highly recommend it.

pasta is a carb choic efood. it is digested fairly quickly and it can cause you to gain weight due to the fact that it is broken into usable energy faster than most people can use it. therefore, your body must store some of it as fat. the problem is people tend to eat too much of it at 1 sitting. you should limit your carb intake after 7pm because most of us dont expend much energy after 7pm, and eating high carb meals at this time can cause your body to store alot of these broken down carbs as fat because we do not use them up. the weight gained is going to be fat, and yes it will be inches too..
