There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to take bc pills just because your tubes are tied. After I had my tubal, my periods got worse. Very painful, and looooong. The pills will help shorten the duration, and help reduce or eliminate menstrual cramps. See your gynecologist for recommendations. Be sure to tell your doctor the reason you want to try the pill, so they don't try to convince you the tubal won't fail. The doc can let you know which pill is best for you, if you're having difficult periods.

I had my tubes tied and within two years I went back on the pill. I had a lot of pain with my periods and this really helped. It kept them on time also.---But--I think it also extended my periods. We have early menopause in our family and I was still going. When I took myself off my pills, I stopped my periods completely.Find out what the average age in your family is and work yourself off them around this age.You should be OK.

Yes. If you are having really bad cramping from your periods, the bcp can possibly help. Also, the bcp lessens your periods, making them less heavy.

I'm on the Yaz bcp, not needing it for birth control reasons. I had the Essure procedure done back in 12/04, it's a permanent form of bc. I take the Yaz strictly for PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

Many women continue to take the pill just for hormones. Most doctors would not have a problem with you continuing on the pill. You should first consult your doctor, but my best friend has been doing it for 6 years now with no problems.

It would be a waste of money, and maybe not good for your health. If you are concerned the tubal ligation will fail, chances are pretty slim. Your doctor may have not only tied the tubes, he may have cut and tied, this would eliminate any worry.

i dont see why not....the pills will regulate your period....help with acne....help your periods be lighter...some people take them just for those reasons...even if say..they arent sexually active. But i would talk to your doc just to make sure there arent any medical problems with it.

i would strongly advise you to talk with your doctor because only he/she can not only prescribe you the pill but tell you all the risks involved.

I wouldnt recommend it. Sometimes we just need to live with our periods and find ways to make them more comfortable naturally.
Messing about with the pill only because of your period isnt good for your body.
