I found out yesterday after I had the worst pain in my stomach that I've ever felt that I have gallstones. I wasn't really given a lot of information so I wanted to know if anyone knew anything. I have to go to my primary care doctor so they can say if I need surgery or not. Does anyone know about the surgery and how long it takes to recuperate. I'm going on vacation starting April 14th and I'm afraid that I won't be able to go either because of the pain or because I might have surgery before then and not be fully recovered. Any help or answers would be appreciated.

For example - In 1999, shyness became a mental illness called social phobia! SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline) won FDA approval to market the SSRI antidepressant Paxil as a specific treatment for social phobia. They hired a PR firm that marketed the disease rather than the drug to win the attention of major media outlets.

What do you think? Are you someone who has been helped by Paxil? If not, would you ever consider taking a drug to combat shyness? Or do you believe, as I do, that this is yet another example of drug companies inventing a mental illness to make money?

Ok, well sometimes I get these normal shivers, but then they go to my head and it feel like something is pulling on my scalp a pricking it with needles. (I'm 12, by the way). Plus, I used to be a tip toe walker and now when I wake up I always can't walk on my left foot because it is like dead or something. Plus I get twisted ankles a lot more then I should. Plus, I cramp up alot. Plus I never am hungry and I could not eat all die and I would have no appetite. I hat food. It is gross. But I eat it anyway because I have to to stay living. And then my mom just says I don't have much of an appetite. I don't think I have a disease cause I go and get regular check ups at the doctor a lot, and they never have to test anything. They say I'm healthy. But really, is never wanting to eat really healthy. Oh, by the way, I have acid reflux, stomach aches, and also I am lactose intolerhent. What is going on with me? Do I have some serious medical problem? Really, it really freaks me out a whole ton.

Im trying to have a healthy diet. I want to loose at least 15 puonds, However, I have work 7a.m. everyday. Can i still buy starbucks coffee ( whitemocha non-fat milk) once a week? Will that effect my diet?

I just found out that my babies placenta is curled and my doctor told me not to worry to much because there is only a slight chance it can effect the baby.. but i would like to know some of the effects, Ive tried searching the web but couldn't find much.. Anyone had a child who experienced Febrile Seizures? Our son had one yesterday when he developed a 104 degree temp very suddenly. I've been to plenty of websites, but would love to hear from some people with some first-hand experience with them. It was probably the scariest moment I've had as a parent, and I hope he never has to go through it again.

heyy im fourteen and still only 5'0... and i got my period like wen i was 11 and 12 so if im growing its very slow. my dads height is 6'1 or 6'2. my mom is 5'2. i eat pretty healthy and this summer is gonna be all activities. i dont think ive even had a growth spurt yet(parents dont think so either) and after your period, its not likely ur gonna have one. I miscarried yesterday. No DnC was performed but 1/2 of the tissue is still in my uterus. They said I will pass it in a few days.

I want to start taking the BC pill. When is it safe to start?

I went to the ER, they did bloodwork, ultrasounds and pelvic exam. Shot me up with Dilaudid so I don't remember the worst parts. They said I passed some tissue, did not hear heartbeat, but my cervix was closed, and I still had at least 1/2 of the rest in my uterus. The MD said the tissue was near the cervix and should come out this weekend. He gave me pain meds to control the obvious discomfort but said I would not need a DnC? I don't understand this. I am not even bleeding that heavy, what if I don't pass it? I'm scared. I do not have insurance and a follow up visit with an OB is $325. What should I do?

I'm not fat, but i do have a little extra flab around the edges that looks weird in a bathing suit. I need ideas that my mom would not notice, like no diet pills or weird things that a teenager can't buy. and no, i am not going to go anorexic or bulimic. that's just nasty!!
