What are you talking bout? well i think you are talking about Manner eye, it is the water from your eye dryed up

for some reason, unknown to me, your eyes water in the middle of the night and the stuff just dries and leaves what I always called " sleepies". I'm not really sure why you can't sleep anymore when you rub them off!

it is mucous that drains from your eyes throughyour sinuses instead of through your nose. has nothign to do with getting back to sleep. but occurs in your sleep as an accumulation because you are not blinking
