I miscarried yesterday. No DnC was performed but 1/2 of the tissue is still in my uterus. They said I will pass it in a few days.

I want to start taking the BC pill. When is it safe to start?

The pill is YAZ.

Thank you.

True, they will pass out in few days. If you have conceived means, you became pregnant to have a baby. Unfortunately it miscarried. Now you want to continue the pill, not have a baby. ? However, wait for some time, since you had D&c recently, yet to pass off all tissues, you should be under medication presently. Now if start taking pill, it may result in reactions, which is harmful to you . Wait for some time, till your Doc clears and say OK for pill. Take care of your health.

You definately need to ask your OB/GYN that question. The pill has it's own side effects and only a licensed physician should advise you on these matters. Don't take a chance with your health or the possiblity of damaging yourself long term.

Please go to a OB-GYNE doctor and have a consultation. You might bleed for fetal tissues are still inside your uterus it can trigger hemorrhage and complications.

Normally, for a woman who had a miscarriage, it is also like a normal delivery, you should wait for your menstruation to return or go to your doctor and ask for another kind of pills which does not have to wait for your menstruation to return.

If you have not started your mens, like you have just miscarried, please refrain from sexual intercourse first until your doctor says so. Or use another method of contraception.
