my 3 year old has terribly chapped lips, i have tried several different types or chapstick and nothing seem to help. the childs lips are almost a purple color from how bad they are, and i cannot get him to stop licking them.......any advice

It began about 5 weeks ago. I woke up to a sharp pain, what felt like to be below my heart, under my ribs. The pain was very sharp as I would try to inhale. It lasted throughout the day and then slowly became more of a dull throbbing feeling in one spot. Not really painful, but definitly there. Since, I have seen the DR. 3 times. First, she thought maybe it was Pluerisy, had me take 800mg of IB Profin 3 times/day. After a few weeks the throbbing seem to dissapear for a few days. I quit taking IB Profin. A few days later it came back. I personally didn't think I had the symptoms of Pluerisy. Went back for a cat scan. Came back good. My DR. seems stumped. She put me on meds for possible pinched nerve. So far, doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot for me. Pain now seems to be in my back a little and up in my back shoulder blade. My rib cage now seems to be just slightly sensitive to the touch as well. No other symptoms at all besides what I explained. Please help???

Okay, I am starting to lose it and go insane. I am 18. In my right ear there I keep getting what sounds like a really soft drum playing really fast in my ear. The intervals between each beat are fast but totally random. This used to last 2-3 seconds 2 weeks ago, but just today it has been pushing 20 seconds or more. It is COMPLETELY random. Nothing specific triggers it, except I've noticed that if I am sitting down doing nothing (ie watching TV) it is less likely to occur.

I thought maybe it was Tinnitus but I am not hearing any buzzing/hissing sounds etc. I went to the doctor today and he pulled out some ear wax and he said there was a significantly larger amount in there than in my other ear. So I was hoping that was the cause. But its been 6 hours now and the beating noise is just as bad.

I am on the verge of insanity! I am not sick, I am active, I am healthy, my blood pressure is a bit above normal (130, tested today, no idea why). Could it be tensor tympani syndrome? help!

Hello...I was just wondering - I have gotten cold sores before. They don't last long, usually 3 days or so..I also have one now, and I mom told me it means I have Herpes...is this true? I know it can be spread through direct contact, but I've never had sex, and I'm a little worried.

Is it possible to develop a cold sore without having Herpes? If not, I'm really concerned that people are going to want to stay away from me (romantically) because they don't want to date someone who has Herpes.

I really hope I get an answer saying a simple cold can cause a sore...please help!

Okay. Firstly, I know you guys will say something negative. Please don't and I ask that you give me advice.

I've been getting perverted thoughts. I am a teen and got curious, so I looked at "perverted stuff." I knew it was bad and I felt guilty but it was so intimate and all and I looked at these things couple times more.

I am not addicted, but I want to rid these thoughts before they get out of hand. I am a christian, and as I was reading the bible, I felt very guilty.

I had these exact syptoms and what i see is exacltly what is shown in the pictured on the page in the link above. Could that lead to eye cancer? Could those symptoms be eye cancer. It says there is no headache, but sometimes i get a headache, sometimes i dont and when i do it is after that (view) goes away. like 15 minutes after.

Three years ago, my chorus teacher died from a heart attack. His death took a huge toll on me since we were very close. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I owe that to him because he was my chorus teacher my entire time in school.

Dealing with his death has been very hard on me, and I can't seem to find the right way to move on, but not let go. I also haven't been able to appreciate music as much as I used to and have stopped singing completely.

I desperately want this part of my life back, but I can't seem to do it with his death. Anyone have suggestions?

Now I don't know much about styes, but I have this big bump UNDER my eyelid (inside the eyelid) and it gets to the point to where sometimes it'll hurt and I'll end up picking at it, and will end up with a swollen eyelid the next morning BUT sometimes it doesn't hurt, and then right out of the blue it'll start back hurting again and then I'll pick at it and then the cycle will repeat itself...I've been having this problem for about 3 or 4 months now, and I wanted to know if you think its a stye or could it be something else??
