excersize regularly. I heard something that if you don't get you body temp up early in the day, then it won't go down as much at night keeping your body and mind active, until it cools down. Or atleast something along those lines.

Also you might want to read up on the five stages of sleeping. There's some tricks I've read about too, if your thinking too much at night.

For example, think of a sentence and read it inside your hea. Then remove one word from the end of the sentence each time you say it.

I am going to sleep very soon.
I am going to sleep very
I am going to sleep
I am going to
I am going
I am
I
...

It's worked for me a couple times, don't know how or why, but it helps.

do you watch alot of tv? i find myself getting up ALOT (becuse i watch alot of tv.
soak in a warm/hot bath before you go to bed, lavender scents are good for relaxation .. maybe get a new pillow if yours is flat, listen to jazz music, or some type of mediation cd, kava kava (herb) , read a book, talk to someone on the phone if your stressed out before you go to bed or write in a journal so you can "get it off your chest". try getting a massage or acupuncture.

if that doesn't work, have a kid or two they will wear you the h*** out by the end of the day... and then beleive me you will be able to go to sleep at the end of the day (smile)
good luck

Make a strongish tea from equal parts lavender, catnip, and chamomile blossoms. My brother and I have both tried this, it takes about 15 minutes to work and knocks you out COLD for 10-12 hours.
Tastes nice too. Enjoy!

they say getting up and sleeping somewhere else like on the couch, another room or sometimes what works for me is just moving on the bed ( putting my head where i usually put my feet), it help too if you keep away from the clocks, sometimes you can stress about what time it is and how long you have to sleep.

Do not use the computer or watch tv for 2 hours before bed. They both stimulate your brain.
