I had my band practice today and while I was practicing on my mouth-piece ( I'm in the trumpet section) I suddenly could not play.No matter how hard I blast there wasn't a single note that i could play. So as I removed my mouth-piece I felt a strange sensation on my lips.

Upon close inspection I realized it was swollen.. But it was not the usual swollen -- the kind you get during warm-up.. It's like as if it's filled with air bubble. When I touched it it felt kinda jelloid in a way AND it felt numb too.The swollen part was also a different shade of colour from my lips.

So what on earth is that? What had caused that and how do I avoid it in the future? Please do help cause it's kinda scary and it's interfering with my warm-ips.. I couldn't play for an hour till the swelling went down.. (:

I love the elliptical trainers at Gold's Gym. I just started and I dedicate an hour on them for 5 days a week. Do you think that the display that tells you how many calories you burned is fairly accurate if you are giving it all you've got? I range between 675 and 735 calories burned in an hour. I know that it also goes by weight and age. I was 260 and I weight 254 and lost it in two and a half weeks. Goal in 2 years is to lose 100 pounds.

Thursday night before bed I started spotting. When I would wipe it would be light, very little and pink. I thought this was the beginning of my period, put a pad on and went to bed. Then the next morning, pad was still clean, it never started. I was confused.. Then I started my period(late Saturday afternoon)on time (28days), which I was happy about because a few days before starting, my breast were tender and one day certain smells grossed me out that never bothered me before. Well, my period started off light which sometimes happens but continued to stay light. Plus I never started cramping which wearily happens. Then monday morning I woke around 8am and changed my tampon, put a new one in and an hour or two went to change again and the tampon was completely white. I put a pad on after that but still the bleeding had stopped. Not spotting when I wiped and almost 24 hours later still no bleeding. This is not normal for me, my periods last usually 7 days. What could this mean?

if she had the Chicken Pox as a child? My partner recently went through 5 weeks of chemo and radiation followed by surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in her lung. (Upper lobe removed from right lung and lymph nodes in chest) My nephew now has the Chicken Pox and we need to know if being around him for Christmas is going to be a threat. Please, only serious answers as this could potentially be a life or death situation. Also, because her immune system is down, could she potentially catch them again? I had them as an adult but need to know if I can still be a carrier if I am exposed to it. Thanks!
