So about three months ago I got this terrible cold:
very tired, stuffed up, sore throat. My doctor gave me a decongestion med and antibiotics because it wouldnt go away. After that it went away but came back worse with a terrible hacking cough, so I went back to the doctor and she gave me another set of more strong antibiotics and suggested blood work and a chest x-ray because the cough wouldnt go away. The blood work came back clear and the x-ray showed a shadow in my lungs so she prescribed another one and it came back the same. So i got inhalers. One of the inhalers was advair and it seemed to work with my cough it went away but then as soon as advair wore off the cough would come back. So i stayed on the inhalers for a while and was prescribed an x-ray for 6 weeks later I just had the x-ray and it shows that I have calcium buil-up on my ribs around my lungs, the doctor says it may be from a cracked rib i didnt know about or from a respiratory infection like pneumonia.

The reason I want to know this is because when I was younger my dentist was looney and wanted to do all sorts of messed up stuff to my mouth. He had me on Valium, and I overdosed on laughing gas once, which is why I never want it again.

My brother is in End Stage Renal disease. He has had so many problems with medicare, that they've actually dropped him from his dyalisis center, forcing to go to the hospital to dyalize, making it harder for him to be dyalized on time. What can I do to help him get his medicare straightened out? His social worker is not giving him the time of day.

if a person struggled all life,got higher education, owned lot of property, helped strangers with money...then he lost his job.
his back got injured, lost in stock.
now he calls normal things , a big problem...he can't do anything...he went thru several painful tests, just because he thought, he had cancer.
even if he gets dental problem, he says no antibiotic can cure it.
before last week he did not sleep for almost 10 days.although doctor had given him Lexapro and ambien...he kept walking day and night, he'll sleep a little but would wake upsoon....he said he did not feel even tired...he now tells, he wanted to harm himself...one day he thought is his last day, and told his brother to come, ...I am his sister ,I too went there and comforted him, and without prescription gave him lorazepam, and he slept within 25 minutes ...later doctor suggested Lorazzepam and lexapro.
when will this medicine cure him?..what is the name of this depression? he is a bit better now

Alright. Even though it is winter I need some advice for track season coming up in the spring. Well I really want to do that or cross country and although I am in OK shape for running i'm not in the best shape. What is a good program to get me in better shape from now until middle February? I do have access to a full gym including raquetball court, treadmill, eliptical, bike, and of course a safe neighborhood. I have winter break until next year so that right there is a start to get in shape. So basically what is a good program, thanks!

At least once a day, I will catch my 10 year old sister pulling a hair out of scalp. One by one, she does this until someone yells at her to stop. Why is she doing this? Is this a nervous habit? Is it her way of dealing with stress? She has pulled out enough hair to be able to tell where she is pulling it from. It is almost like she has bald spots!

Hi, My husbands sisters daughter spent the night last night and we were talking today and she told me that her family tested positive for tubercalosis a week ago, she said only on the skin though? And they took medicine so its ok? Should I be worried and maybe get checked out myself? My doctor has recently put me on 3 different types of medication.Adderall20mg (for problems with my concentration in school). Lexapro10mg(for my anxiety,whcih i take with adderall) and lunesta 5mg (before i go to bed at night.)

First,i was wondering if it will better help release your medication if you eat something with it,because ill be really feeling good and then it just dies down.Ive only been on it for 2 weeks and i really dont think its wearing off.But ive heard that if you eat something it will help it release better in your system???
ALSO,are all these medications safe to take together(lexapro and adderall).what i mean is being on 3 different medications which are pretty serious drugs hurt me in any way? (lunesta i only take right before i go to bed.I go to a phyciatrist and therapist who are keeping a close eye on me.

I am a runner and usually do elliptical workouts every other day (1000 calorie an hour pace for 1.5 hours). I drink 2 cups (cups as in the cooking measurement, more or less one tall glass worth) of gatorade about 45 mintes before each workout.

Every time I use the elliptical machine I notice my heart rate quickly goes up to 150 beats per minute within the first 6 minutes or so and stays at that rate until 40 minutes. However, after 40 minutes (with no change in pace), my heart rate jumps up to about 160-164 and stays at about this level (climbing a bit but not much as time goes on) until the end of the workout...yet I do not feel dyhydrated.

Is my body short of nutrients (and, if so, what is it most likely missing to help it run efficiently) or what is going on here?

Note: if you answer please do not say something vague like "ok, that means you are exercising too hard" that avoids the problem rather than solving it. Thanks. :-)

i've been wearing this type of contacts for a while and never had problems. i don't wear them very often also, just 2-4 days a week, and only for a couple of hours and i take good care of my eyes.

today my right eye reli hurt (felt like there were pieces of sand scratching my eye) so later when i took it out and put my glasses back on, everything was blurry in my right eye. my left eye is perfectly fine, but seems like i can see pretty well without contacts or glasses w/ my right eye. and i'm sure i took the contacts out and there r 2 of them in the trash can right now...

my right eye still feels irritated and is pretty red. i talked to my optometrist and she said i should wait for a day to see if it stays the same. but does anyone know what the problem could be?
