72 is around normal but many factors can cause a change such as a cup of coffee , a cigarette, exercise , medications etc. Mine is normally high like that even at rest but I have other health problems contributing to the high rate for me. I believe it's called tachycardia when you have a faster than normal heartbeat. At 90 you may not yet be considered with that but may get yourself a checkup if yours is like that all the time.

That depends on your age, general physical health and what you were doing just prior to taking your pulse. "Normal" pulse (which is actually just an average) is 72, but that's really a relative number. Some folks are normal at 80, some are normal at 50. You didn't state your age, but try taking your pulse again in the morning before you get out of bed. If it's still high, you might want to talk to a doctor. There's probably nothing to worry about but it doesn't hurt to check.

No 90 isnt high. 80 - 100 is Book Normal but everyone is different. Alot of atheletes fall in the 60's range even into the 50's. But 90 is normal :)

A heart rate of 90 is normal after strenuous exercise, but at rest a HR of 90 is high. I'd see a doctor if I were you.
Also, check your pulse for the full minute, it will be more accurate.

your pulse is equivalent to your heart rate, noramla HR is 60-80 beats/min
so you should count your pulse for 60 seconds and it should be betwen 60-80
for young girls its generally higher than this because we have low blood pressure so the heart compenates by beating faster
yours is slighty high but its not serious, i have a friend who's pulse is about 110 beats/min but she has very low blood pressure
