There is no age set for onset of mental illness! You can be born with a genetic disposition, or a trauma of some sort can cause it at any age.

Most of the time you're born with it. I have read that there are ages when it shows itself, like puberty and then early 20's. But my brother's schizophrenia was obvious when he was 7.

You can experience mental illness as a child and as a senior citizen. Age has nothing to do with it.
