What, if any, are the health implications of eating foods high in mercury content, such as swordfish? What foods have potentially dangerous amounts of mercury, and does that mercury stay in your body for an extended period of time? Educated answers only please.

My friend has severe depression. She cuts herself and has even told me that she is planning to kill herself by the end of the year. I've told her parents and they are trying to make her get help, but she won't take it! I call her every night and see her every weekend to try to help her, but she never talks to me on the phone for more than 2 minutes, and she just sits in her room and dosen't really talk to me while I am there. I'm really scared for her and dont want her to kill herself. How else can I help her?

I have this reaction that really annoys me. Whenever someone around me sniffs their nose (aka if they had a cold), I suddenly feel a large amount of mucus run down the back of my throat. It almost feels like the germs from their nose just immediately went over to me. But it doesn't even matter if they're close to me; as long as I hear a sniff, I feel the mucus.

Is this normal?

I got hit by a car today. Not hard; as I was crossing the crosswalk, the car turned the corner and hit me in the back of my right thigh. I fell down but I got up and felt okay, no injuries or anything. I walked the rest of the way home, but now my LEFT leg is going wonky. It doesn't really hurt but I must have twisted my leg when I fell because I can't stand up on that leg anymore, my knee seems to like collapse. My right leg is fine and I can hobble around but I can't really walk very well. I can't imagine anything is broken as there is no reason pain, just a twitch and a sharp feeling and I have to fold my knee. I can hold my leg straight, just can't put any weight on it.
I haven't got a car and anyway it's late here so I won't be going to the doc's or anything, just wondering if anyone knows whether it'll get any better soon?

it separated where the screw is in the ear piece. I have the screw but my left lens is now missing!! I searched all over my dining room. WIll they be able to replace ONE lens w/o redoing the whole thing?Im kinda annoyed because these were not cheap glasses.

I am in my early 20's and was recently diagnosed bipolar.....however even with medicine I never feel "normal" unless I have alcohol in my system....that is why I love being able to drink because it is really the only time that I ever feel great....is this normal?

Okay first off i have extra skin on my vigina and i went to the gynocologest and they say this is normal but i still feel uncomfertable with myself and when im doing something with my boyfriend. thats on a normal day, and right now the extra skin is inflamed? it seems bigger and swollen. i dont know what this is and none of my friends have this problem either if the doctor says its normal then why do i feel so unnormal? and embarresed?

My foreskin is still attached to my penis and it really becomes painful while masturbating. Moreover The inside has become very sensitive and even a touch give me shivers. and believe me not the best kind. For about 6 years I've noticed these small white spots ( about 100 of em) on my upper lip. I've no clue to what they are. I think I could rule out any std's cause I've been tested years after the fact. Some members (older) of m y family have spots on their lips but. I think that is either freckles or sun damage. I have neither. They are very small, white, slighty raised, posibly fluid filled spots. They are not painful and I'm not at all bothered by their appearence just want to know what they are. Oh, there nothing like coldsores (never have had a coldsore) more like tiny white pimples. Only on my upper lip, none on lower.

I have been having problems getting treated for bipolar disorder. I have been depressed for about 8 months and my doctor wants to send me to the psychiatric hospital for more serious treatment. I convinced my doctor to let me try one more med for a trial that would go past christmas. if im not better by christmas, we decided that I should go through a program at the hospital for 3 weeks. Should I tell her before christmas? she worries a lot, and the last time i was in the hospital i had a really terrible time to say the least. it was traumatizing in and of itself. every christmas is terrible for my mother because she is always worrying about my sister and i (my sister is also bipolar, is struggling with her marriage and has been anorexic). She said that she is very excited because she thinks its finally going a good christmas. I dont want to ruin it for her by telling her this so that its in the back of her mind these next few weeks, but also I don't want her feelings hurt I didnt tell

I have a bunch of blackheads on my nose. Many blackheads come out when I use a blackhead tool (or squeeze them) but these ones dont. They seem permanent. No wash or cleanser has worked. Does anyone have any advice?
