I have a friend whose weight has rocketed from being overweight to being morbidly obese. I mean he is quite simply enormous and I fear for his livelihood. The worst part is that I seem to be maintaining our friendship without actually saying what I feel about his situation. In mine or anyone's view he is heading for an early grave - we are only 34. How do I broach the subject without causing offence or making it seem like I am meddling?

He has always been big, and you accept this about your friends, it takes all shapes and sizes to make a world. So at what point do you say this is life threatening. At what point do I wonder why his parents or doctors aren't having any effect on his thinking. It's maybe not my place, but then whose place is it? Do I just watch him fade into ill health? Death through morbid obesity must be a lonely demise. I just don't know how to be a friend in all of this. I'm not a dietician or a samaritan, but he needs help somehow. What can I do or say to help?

i have recently started and office job and have realised over the past few days a numbness/ pins and needles feeling in my little finger. Also i have a pain in my elbow when i bend it in certain directions. Is it a trapped nerve from being sat at a desk for 12 hours? thanks

I started on friday but already yesterday i left one hour before as i was feeling very unwell and eventually had a panick attack on the tube. Then today i left 3 hours early as i wasn't feeling well. It is not a chronic and is a side effect of a medication i have been taking. I explained that to my bosses. Although they seem to understand, i am worried they will tell me to leave soon. The condition should go away in a few days. Would you sack me if you were my boss?

Husband just had his total thyroid removed. Found out the tumor is papillary and small, but lymph nodes have cancer. He has to wait till the first of the year to do the radioactive iodine then a week later he does a body scan. I'm scaried to death to wait so long for the body scan. This waiting in llimbo is making me crazy. I think his age seems to be a factor, he's 58. I'm very concerned what will follow...............

I just took Mucinex for my cough and cold. It seems to be working for breaking up the mucus, however I still have aching muscles and a fever. Can I take other cold medicine while taking the mucinex? Each dose is supposed to last for 12 hours and I cannot wait that long to take NyQuill or Alka-Seltzer Plus.

I'm 19 and i am 98 lbs it the closest i ever get to 100 i lose what ever weight i put on,because i don't have a proper diet i don't eat as much as i should,i don't have any appetite at times,i eat as much as two meal a day i not poor or any thing,i just can't help myself so i'm asking for some info.online as to how to gain weight and my appetite

tongue...right next to my wisdom tooth thats just beginning to show. It's exactly like one of those pimples you get when you have too many sweets! And it hurts like it when i brush my finger over it or my teeth....

I am 25 years old and me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant. It has been 71 days since my last period. The past two months I have been very dizzy and nauseous. I had a blood pregnancy test two weeks ago that came out negative. I have been having cramps the past two weeks. Yesterday I bleed, but it was VERY little and pink, and it has already stopped. My son is having his 7th day of high fever of 104.. No other symptoms. he is in the hospital for observations, the doctors think it is viral due to all tests coming back negative. Can this just be a virus? it is like clock work, once the motrin wears off in 4-6 hours, his fever returns. all the doctors(infectious disease, pediatrician and immunologist) thinks he has a virus and might also be immune deficient. that is why it is taking very long to get rid of this virus. Has anyone had anything similar? My wife and I are lost and don't know if the doctors are right. they say after 10th day of fever, then they will change game plan to MRI, cat scan, x-rays etc...hope someone can shed some light. Thanks.

Ok, I think I am, but I don't know. First off, I have bad Anxiety, OCD, and Depression. I don't have any health insurance and can't afford to go see a doctor let alone get on any medication, so I have turned to alcohol. It has been close to a year now, off and on mostly, but now it is at its worst. I mostly drink liquer, at home by myself cause most of the time I would rather be by myself. Sometimes I buy beer though, but I prefer liquer. Everytime I go out somewhere, I drink something. I'm only 23 and both of my parents were alcoholics and a lot of my Aunts and Uncles and grandparents also, so I am at the highest risk there is for becoming an alcoholic. The biggest reason why I am drinking is because of my mental disorders, it helps me be more social and not so ill feeling all the time, but sometimes when I drink, I feel like hurting myself, and then when I sober up, i'm like, that was nonsense. Honest opinions please. Thanks
