anyway. the reason I ask is because I am a mental health student nurse and next week I am due to observe a treatment of ECT. I was quite shocked to hear my mento tell me this because I thought it was a very bad way of treating patients as I believed it was unethical, painfull and can cause long term damage. I didn't want to refuse because I want to make a good first impression as this is my first hospital placement...I just need to know if other hospitals use this treatment and if it is ok to do so

I'm only 15, and when I come home from school, I'm too tired to workout. If I lay down I won't get back up. I was wondering if I could take anything that will give me a boost of energy that won't have any negative long-term effects?

I get really really tired after I eat. Doesn't have to be a big meal, just whenever I eat. I get so tired I literally just want to pass out. Any idea why this happens?

Yes, I know...BOTH! But if I could only do one or the other what is more important and healthier. Eating so-so but getting a great daily workout or eating healthy but hardly moving a muscle everyday?

For 2 years now, I've had a dry (non-productive) cough. It happens during the day and subsides when I sleep at night. Sometimes just lying down quiet the cough significantly. I start coughing the minute I get out of bed in the morning, and continue coughing throughout the day. I'm not coughing up a lung here, but it's bothersome nonetheless. My voice hasn't changed, though. But lately my chest has been hurting, it sometimes tightens up. And my heart skips a beat sometimes, as well. Sometimes I even get these shooting / stabbing / sharp pains in my chest (mainly on the left side). I've had x-rays taken, they were clear. Doc says it's a "nervous cough" but offered no relief. I'm beginning to wonder whether this is a sign of something worse, like a precurser to a heart attack. (If it helps, I have type 1 diabetes.) Any advice? Thanks.

Firstly please don't make fun of me.

I am extremely shy, and find meeting new people really hard.
I am 22 and get very anxious in social situations. I hate going out anywhere, and never go to parties etc.
When i was at senior school between ages 11-18, i didn't have any good friends. Have lost contact with them all, and don't have any friends. Please don't make fun of me.

I also have a massive anxiety of speaking on the phone. I can only call parents. Last time i called someone else, i was 15.

Whenever in social situations, i get very anxious, and have panic attacks. Please help me. What can i do about this?

Really need answers. Sorry this is so long.

If so, how are you coping? Also, what did you find to be the best treatment/surgery? The doc says no to any surgery b/c he says I am too young (27). Instead of wasting time and money going to doctor after doctor just to hear the same crap, is there a surgery that can be done that you know of or have had? I have heard of Infuse Bone Grafting, but how bad does it have to be to have this done? My doctors are not really helping, I just get epidural injections and those are like 4 grand a pop and only get me to the next stop.I have only lost my L5 and L4 so far. I am not looking for medical treatment online so if all you are going to say is talk to your doctor dont answer, I am looking for guidance in the right direction from someone who knows what they are talking about. Are there hospitals in the US that are better, such as the Mayo Clinic or does anyone have any other suggestions? My docs dont suggest anything that works, or refer me to docs that help. Thank you for serious answers!!!
