If you have never seen the movie Lorenzo's Oil, then I'll explain. Lorenzo is 5 years old when he is diagnosed with ALD, an inborn error of the metabolism that causes degeneration of the brain. It is was rare and pretty much unstudied at the time. His parents took it upon themselves to find a cure or atleast a way to stop his suffering. They did find a sort of cure that ended his suffering and gave him the ability to move and what not, but never walk or talk still. So were their actions ethical or unethical????

Okay maybe this is a stupid question, but I am curious. Do anorexic people get hungry and just brush off the pain and feel better about themselves, or does their body just not get hungry?

I heard that if you try to suppress your sneeze, so that it doesn't come out in a big achoo, you can damage your brain. May be just an urban legend, but I wonder may be there is a little truth to it. Do you know what I mean - when you sneeze with a "closed mouth" so that the sneeze happens inside.

When I type it feels strange because it almost hurts but it feels stiff. I wonder if this is what arthritis starts like because my first knuckle on my little finger on my right hand is bent toward the ring finger. Did anyone ever experience this?

I am 32, and have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. I currently am working 40 hours a week. I have been missing around 2 days a week due to my Arthritis. There is a possibility I may walk into work tomorrow and be fired. My company does know I have RA. I am still recovering from a Subtalar Fusion on my right ankle. May days I have trouble getting out of bed due to my RA. I am also having severe muscle spasms in my back, that causes me to have problems sitting all day at my desk. Does this sound like I have grounds to apply for SS Disability? Any advise would be great! I am not looking for a easy out, but I do know my limitations.

I have an annual physical scheduled with my female doctor. Up to now I've only seen her for colds and simple things; never had to undress. I'm sure she will do a testicular exam and a prostate test. Does anyone know if it is normal for me to have a gown? In the past, my male doc had me strip to my shorts then drop them for these. Also, is it required for a nurse to be present like it is when a male doc examines a female patient? Switching doctors really isn't an option. Please, only serious answers - I've read all the Penthouse Forum stories too. I'm just afraid I might get aroused (and embarrassed), especially if there will be two women in the room.
