Having a baby at 40 might not be too late, but risky. If it's the first time i'ts very risky, because your vagina is a little old and fragil, it's almost sure that you can spend all the 9 months going to the doctor like every week.
For you, you might want the baby badly, but you will be very tired, more tired then the younger mothers, you might need a lot of support from the people arround you.
For the baby, when he'll be older poeple might think taht your he's grandmother.
Good luck! ( next time put some more details so you can have better answers to what you realy want to know.)

The question is, do you think it is too late to be running around after a young child. Do you want to be 60 yrs old when you watch your child graduate high school? Do you think you are still capable of doing all the running around invovled in having a child? You are the only one who can REALLY answer this question.
On heath terms, are you healthy enough to keep up with someone who has so much energy? You need to have a doctor check you out as well to make sure that everything is ok. If it is still something you are thinking about doing, then go for it girl! More power to ya!

Other than having to go for genetic counciling...there is nothing wrong with having a baby at 40. In fact, many woman are having children later in life. I was never able to conceive until I was 38.I had my last child at 40...that was 4 yrs ago. It does take some adjusting to a different lifestyle because we do get kind of set in our ways but hey...I'm 44,overweight,work out of the home while kids are in school....if I can do it......!

I do....after 35, the baby is more at risk for things such as Down Syndrome. Besides that, the woman isn't going to have to energy that a 25 year old would have.

I, myself, couldnt do it, but I certainly dont think its too late. If youre up to it, I say go for it.
My Mom is now 76 and she looks fabulous after having 10 kids. I was the last, of course.

I guess if you're healthy & have enough money its OK.....Its not for me. I'm glad I'm done with all that. So, you'll be 58 or 59 when he/she graduates from high school. Then another 4 years for college & maybe grad school. I'd think about it.
