Most styes are caused by a strain of Staphylococcus bacteria and will heal on their own in 5-10 days. You can relieve some of the symptoms with a warm or hot compress. If that doesn't help, there are oral antibiotic creams to speed healing. Popping it is not advised as you can spread the infection to the surface of your eye.
Blepharitis can often be mistaken for a stye. This is also treated with oral or topical antibiotics along with a regimen of cleaning the eyelids.
Blocked oil glands near the lids can cause a stye-like growth called a Chalazion - this can be treated with a warm compress a few times a day.
So there you go, but a warm compress on for a few days. If nothing happens go to your doctor and get some antibiotics.
Hope you feel better,
Odd

Use a Hot cloth as hot as u can get it and put it over your eye for 10 minutes. repeat 3-4 times a day. Also if you have regular tea bags (like the ones with caffeine not herbal) put them in boiling water, let them cool down enough to put soak your eye. The tea bag trick has helped both my sister and I avoid the doctor.

There are some over the counter medications to apply to the stye. Check at your local pharmacy and ask the pharmasist. Most of the time they have to run their course. Try hot packs and ice alternating between the two.

Put some warm water in a bowl, dip a cotton bud in it & bathe your eye. It brings the infection to the surface & heals quicker.

I had a few. They usually just go away. They are tiny zits.
Once I put store-bought eyedrops on it and it flamed up so bad, I had to go to the doctor. He gave me anti-biotics.

Any pharmacist will show you the right stuff. It is sold across the counter and not very expensive. Plus it will work.
