If you have never seen the movie Lorenzo's Oil, then I'll explain. Lorenzo is 5 years old when he is diagnosed with ALD, an inborn error of the metabolism that causes degeneration of the brain. It is was rare and pretty much unstudied at the time. His parents took it upon themselves to find a cure or atleast a way to stop his suffering. They did find a sort of cure that ended his suffering and gave him the ability to move and what not, but never walk or talk still. So were their actions ethical or unethical????

How can focusing on helping someone be unethical? I have seen the movie, and I found it incredibly touching that his parents were willing to do anything to help him. Yes they took a risk. But, what was the risk? He didn't have much quality of life, nor did he have much time left. Would you do any less? So if the risk was that they would cause more serious problems, how could they be any worse than what he was currently afflicted with?

How do you provide somebody that pays no longer something a shrink? And specific this is a start up of socialism while they collect from one group to grant to a different. we live in a constitutional republic and socialism will basically ruin that speedier. it would be effective if the socialists and communists might in basic terms circulate stay in Europe. From what i've got study England will settle for many every person.

yes, I saw the movie, a long time ago. But it did stick in my mind. I think it was very ethical what they did. Who wouldn't do what ever it took, to stop their child from suffering.
