Sharp pain in left side of the head/brain. Seems like a headache after pains, doesnt last long. Sometimes blurred vision in left eye. Very painful, feels like left side is going to bust.

My mother was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome last week (10/22/06). She had some tingling in her finger tips and toes on Sunday afternoon, and felt weaker as the day went on. By Sunday night my father had to call an ambulance for her and by Monday evening she was completely paralized, in the ICU on a respirator. Two days later (Wednesday 10/24) she had her first plasmapherisis, and had 5 treatments, everyother day, today being the last treatment.

Since last week, she has recovered some movement in her arms and legs. She can wiggle her feet, and shrug her shoulders, and can shake her head "yes" and "no".

I want to know basically, when we an expect her to be off the respirator? How long does it take to be able to get out of bed? How long until she can walk on her own again? This disease came on so suddenly without warning, and my family is completely distraught over this. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been trying to find out about ovulation after child birth. I had a baby 6 weeks ago and haven't gotten my period yet so I looked up how soon it would come (bottle fed baby) I read that you do not ovulate until AFTER first period after childbirth is this true?

I have a bump in my hand that is sort of hard, but sort of soft. It's under my skin and it moves around. It doesn't hurt, but it kinda bugs me. It moves around when I touch it, and it's the size of a big pea.
I've had it for about 2 years.
Should I worry?

I recently had a pap smear. I have had one before and found it to be painful and uncomfortable. However, this time the pain was excruciating. After the exam, I was sore down there and overall, it just didn't feel the same. Later, i found small traces of blood when I used the bathroom. An entire day later, I can still feel the affects of having had it done. It doesn't hurt but feels weird. Is it normal to feel this way after a pap smear? If it means anything, i'm a virgin. I heard it's more uncomfortable for virgins but this pap smear was ridiculously more painful than my very first one. Why do you think it hurt so bad?

I've been having cramps for aboujt a week and i just started taking that vitex...it is a side effect of it...but when we have sex it really hurts it feels like its pushing up my ovaries and afterwards like my insides hurt....i know this isnt normal....my boobs have been hurting really bad even if he just barely touches them...i havent had a period in 11 months because i took the depo one time last october in 2005...i dont think that vitex could of made me ovulate already do you? its just freaking me out cause it hurts when we have sex...did anyone else have this ever? and were not rough...

I've recently had sex with a guy that i've known for quite a bit. The problem is....I think he might've had some kind of disease that i might've contracted. I don't know if it was an allergic reaction to the condom or what. I am planning on visiting the doctor tomorrow but want to know if anyone has any specific information on what could cause a sudden sharp pain in my throat? When it started it felt like I had a dry throat and spoke causing a veru sharp and accute pain in my throat.

The pain is now constant at every spoken word, swallow and cough.

Any ideas?

By the way, the pain is in the middle of my neck, in my throat and is on the left side.

Im 17 and I have social phobia for as long as I can remember. Social phobia or Social anxiety disorder meaning " an anxiety disorder characterized by overwhelming anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in everyday social situations."

i know that crying is just a release of emotions, but i am not depressed, i am a little stressed, but i am completely happy. i don't want to cry, but i do nearly every day. thank goodness i don't cry at school, but sometimes i cry when i'm with my boyfriend just because he is being sweet to me. i am very sensitive, but i have been more sensitive over the past few weeks than i have ever been before. is there some kind of medicine that will dry my tear glands or tear ducts so that i won't cry so much?
