Both Staphlococcus and hepatitis are transmissible through contact with either blood, wounds or other contaminated objects. Staph infections occur in hospitals where the level of sanitation is usually very high. There are different types of hepatitis and transmission can be sexually, or fecally contaminated fomites (objects capable of carrying the infection) For Staph, a good bacteriocidal soap is usually effective, or even a very mild bleach solution. Hepatitis is more difficult, but a good start is with the soap. For cleaning toilet seats, and areas that may have been touched by the patient's hands after a bowel movement require stronger measures and carbolic acid is often used. As with hepatitis there are different types of Staph and the most common is Staphlococcus aureus or Staphlococcus epidermis. Staph aureus is a frequent contaminant of food, producing a food poisoning, and usually as a result of an infected food handler.

No. Neither are contagious to intact, healthy skin. There are several types of hepatitis. The most common (Hep A) is usually consumed (such as in contaminated food). Hep C is generally though of as transmitted via sex or other fluid exchange from someone who is infected, such as a needle stick or blood into an opened wound. Staph infection can is pretty intense and spreads much more easily. Broken or chaffed skin or even touching your eye or mouth can lead to the spread. Intact healthy skin should not be susceptible, though.

Hepatitis comes in may different forms some are indeed transmitted via touching something contaminated. Staphlyococcus infection is transmitted in much the same way. In both cases frequent handwashing greatly reduces the risk of contracting the nasty viurses (hepatitis) and microbes (staph.).
