what happens if you have a stomach ulcer that may be bleeding?????operation or.............??????

i dont have bad stomach pains or anything......just a few mild ones??????

if you are not seeing a doctor then the potential for bad things is right around the corner. If the ulcer is blleding you can have bllod in your stool and become anemic. Worse than that, blleding ulcers can eat away at the lining of the stomach/duodenum and poke a "hole". most treated witha Prev-Pack (prevacid and an antibiotic) can usually help. bloodwork also needs to be done to find out the cause of the problem (possible H pylori). operations are a last resort.

Many times, surgery is not necessary. Medication can keep it under control. I've heard that they often prescribe antibiotics because some ulcers are caused by bacteria.

Until you see a doctor, you undoubtedly will have blood in your stool and one helluva belly ache.
