My GP wrote a letter to get me admitted into hospital on Monday, saying that she wanted a chest x-ray, some blood test and a couple of other things done. I was kept in overnight, with none of the medication that my GP has had me on for the last few weeks, and a nurse took some blood. She also put me on an IV drip saying that I was dehydrated. They took my blood pressure once, it was 97/40, and my temperature was 37.9.
They never gave me the chest x-ray, or any of the other tests my GP had requested.
They then discharged me, without ever seeing a doctor or being told what was wrong with me. Can the NHS do that? I still feel like crap, should i go back to my GP?

I signed with a modeling agency about a month ago. I have my first casting this weekend. Since I signed, I have quit smoking and put on about 8lbs. I dont want to start smoking again, but I need to drop a few pounds pretty fast. I Want to do it a healthy way, and I am just looking to drop maybe 5 or 6 pounds, any suggestions?

My mother has been with her insurance company for years and years. She recently was in the process of undergoing knee surgery. Two weeks away from surgery date her insurance gets cancelled. Apparently, she forgot to send her September payment in. She sent August and October. Since she forgot September they cancelled her and gladly refunded her October payment. She was stunned that she had somehow forgotten a payment. They would not work with her and it looks now as if they went ahead and cashed her October payment, knowing they didn't get a payment for the previous month. Can she win this fight and continue her insurance coverage, or should she write it off and be more cautious?

This may sound weird because I've never heard of anyone else having this problem. When I shave the hairs on the back of my upper thigh become ingrown and cause a red bump. Often times they become infected like a pimple. I really hate them and don't know how to stop this from happening.

I have had lips that cracked and chapped my whole life, but since I had to go on an oxygen mask while having my daughter two years ago I have had a split down the middle of my lower lip. There are no chapsticks that work. (I've spent a ridiculous amount on them all and they dont help) Not only is the split not healing, but its getting slightly bigger all the time. I am now considering getting stitches, to hold it closed til it heals. anyone else have this problem? i would love some advice.

Hi, I had a psychotic episode last year triggered by an intensive meditation course. I had hallunications, delusions (believed I was the new messiah, telepathy, etc etc), almost committed suicide, and it completely freaked me out.

It lasted a week. I have been recovering since. I've been through a severe depression this year and have been trying to build myself and my life back together.

Now I'm getting much better - I've been back at work for five months, I am on medication, and am seeing a psychiatrist and counsellor.

The current problem is that I don't feel my emotions. It's really horrible, like I'm half alive. I don't feel happy, unhappy, sad, afraid, joyful, excited - just nothing. Or very rarely. I think it's a protective mechanism - like I'm still in shock.

However, I'm in a safe environment now and I'd like to aid the recovery process, so the question is: how do I get back in touch with my emotions?

Here's the situation...
A man comes into ER. He has been severely beaten, stabbed multiple times, and shot. He is now in shock, but still alive. despite the actions of the ER doctor, he dies after a time, and nobody can believe that he lived as long as he did. In fact, the ER crew is amazed that he was still alive when he was brought in by the EMT's.

Here's the catch...
The victim is a vampire who has not yet turned completely. He died as a normal process of turning, but he will revive and have vampire strength and special powers. And the hunger.

Here's the question...
What tests and procedures would be performed on him while the doctors are trying to save him, and what wierd things would one expect to see from those tests and actions if the victim was a first-stage vampire?

Use your imagination, but make it believable.
