Seroquel question?

Is anyone taking Seroquel and if so how long have you been on it and what side effects have you had? Do you feel tired the next day?

hi I'm not on it but my boyfriend has been on it for two or three years. at first they had him on 600 mg a night and he slept like the dead all through the night and next day. then they lowered him to 200 mg and he was groggy the next day. now they are bumping him up to 400 a day and told him he would sleep for a week straight and we have to wake him every so often and give him fluids and force him to eat. the docs say he will regulate after the first week but i don't keep my hopes up for that. i don't like him on the high dosage as i feel it is not healthy to sleep all the time.

I used to take Seroquel and I hated it. I couldn't function correctly. Every time I would speak, I seemed to pause in between words and I would easily lose my train of thought. That pill made me so tired that I bumped into a wall a few times in the middle of the night. I used to have to wake up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water because it left my mouth feeling really dry. I also had these weird mental hallucinations that bugs were flying around me. I still have a bottle of 90 pills that I don't use. The only time I take one is if it is necessary and I can't stop crying. I try not to take them because they make me sleep for 15 hours and I feel groggy the next day too.

I was on it for about 5 years and the only thing that I noticed was it made me really tired. So tired that my doctor made me cut the pill in half. I felt better on it, I had relief from my symptoms and less side effects. It was a lot better than Zyprexa, that completely knocked me out! It also helps to take it at night, I was only on it once a day so it helped me sleep.

I have taken it for at least 10yrs and do have the side effect of fatigue. I'd rather be tired than crazy!
