This may sound weird because I've never heard of anyone else having this problem. When I shave the hairs on the back of my upper thigh become ingrown and cause a red bump. Often times they become infected like a pimple. I really hate them and don't know how to stop this from happening.

I think the best thing to do is to exfoliate the skin daily with a loofah and grainy cleanser - before you shave. use a soap on your skin that does not cause build up - like ZEST. Use a smoothing cream once daily as well.

the suggestions above are soooo correct... but you might ALSO try using baby powder on the backs of your thighs before you get dressed every morning... this will keep the backs of your legs smooth, soft, and offer a gentle layer of protection so your clothes don't rub and chafe there so much during the day which can irritate the skin and new hairs trying to poke through.

The way to stop it is to scrub lightly with a loofah after you shave and every time you shower keep doing it. This way the hairs will work their way out.

Use a body lotion with alpha and beta hydroxy acids every day. It will get rid or ingrown hairs as well as other little red bumps that are annoying. Trust me it works.

Ex...Kiss my face Peaches and cream alpha hydroxy lotion.
