there is alot of stuff down there... you have your female organs (which is most people first guess at abdominal pain in a woman) and you also have several muscles that are responsible for letting you walk, stand up straight, get in and out of chairs, etc... these muscles are fairly small and do a lot of work so it's not to difficult to pull one (does the pain come and go when after you're exercising or had sexual intercourse?)... your large and small intestinal tract are also in your abdomin so you might have something going on there, maybe you've become sensitive to something you're eating like milk, strawberries, wheat, there are tons of foods that can suddenly cause discomfort in your tummy and intestines (if you are constipated or have diarreah as well as pain this may be another sign of intestinal issues).
go to a doctor and get checked out thouroughly! don't automatically assume it's your female stuff... there's alot going on in your abdominal area.
good luck.

Depending on what area of the tummy the pain appears, can determine the cause.. Must consider trapped gas, appendix, ovarian cyst... the list can be rather long.. if it is gas, it can be determined simply by taking the knee/chest position for a few minutes. If there is a prolapse of the transverse colon, there is a kink which does not allow the gas to pass the flexure of the descending colon.. expansion of the colon can be very painful.. sharp pains.
This condition is not uncommon and can appear intermittently.

There is alot of stuff inside your abdomen: your intestines, your organs, but the one of the most common abdominal pain besides period cramps is a urinary tract infection(UTI). It occurs in the lower middle abdomen.

It could be any number of things. It could be something gynecological or it could be stress related or it could be colitis or any number of things. From my own experience I would see your ob/gyn and/or a gastroenteroloist. It also could be as simple as what you are eating. From what I understand as we age, certain foods that never bothered us before can start to bother us out of the blue. Either way, good luck and take care!
