Health - 1 September 2006

Last Sunday, i ended up getting rug burn on my knee so badly that it was very tender and almost bleeding. I cleaned it later that night and kept Neosporan on it for about a day and a half with a band aid at night and no band aid during the day. Now the scab is forming more, but as it does that it hurts more and more. If i bend my knee, it breaks the scab and starts bleeding again. I usually can't get to sleep at night unless i put Neosporan and a band aid on it (cause i sleep on my stomach). I work with kids, so i can't just keep it straight til it heals and we had an inservice today about first aid and CPR. The instructor told me not to use the Neosporan after the first day or two. When i put a band aid on it without the Neosporan it got fuzzies all in it. I'm not sure how bad that is....what do i do to make it go away faster?!!! Has this ever happened to any of you? What makes it not hurt enough? What hasn't worked for you? I need input!!! Please help me....

to save the embarrasment of the clinic , can your own doctor look, take blood/urine tests etc. and prescribe appropriate medicine to sort problem out, or must you attend a clinic ????

im 13 and i already have had one root canal and 8 cavaties... i have 3 more that need to be filled... every time a get my cavatie filled another one attacks the same tooth... i also suffer from gingivitas, i brush my teeth 2 times a day (with a perscription toothpaste that has extra flouride at night) and flos 3 times a day... i do not know if i should you mouth wash or change anything about my eating habits? should i? please note that i am getting crowns on all my molars when i get a little older.

This one is strange.

I have toothache that only comes on at night (after 11pm) its gone by morning and throughout the rest of the day. Its not in just one tooth, but all the teeth on my left side, both upper and lower (they seem to take turns in a game of See Who Can Cause The Most Pain), and then extends all the way upto (and incuding) my left ear. Its not constant, it will come and then completely go. No pain killers will work, but standing up stops the pain in seconds.

I have a histoy of toothache caused by sinusitis, but this doesnt feel like that, or any other toothache ive ever had. And it was proceeded by a week of strange sensations throughout my whole upper and lower jaw.

Any ideas about that cause?

I'v finally managed to get an apointment at the fang-quacks but its not untill tuesday. :(

My left arm is feeling a little stiff and tingly. The area in front of the elbow and up the side of my arm where the bicep is.

Do you think its my arteries and veins that are becoming congested with fats and stuff? It feels like a pinch in my veins(more than one). Is that it? I'm only 5'4" - 115 pounds, and 21 yrs. I'm too young to die!

There was a point in my life where I only ate Big Cheeseburger, curly fries, and cokes from Jack in the Box everday for about a month or two. I'm eating healthier now, though. Are those cheeseburgers coming back to kill me!? Should I call 911 now? Or should I be dead already if it were a heart attack?

I have had several episodes of a tingling pain starting in my shoulder blades, running across my chest and then into my arms. It makes it almost impossible to breath when this happens. I am seeing a doctor, am taking 100 ml of Toprol, and keeping nitorglycerine with me for these attacks. I also will become nausiated out of the blue and feel like i'm gonna pass out. I have broken out in cold sweats before during the nausia. I'm scheduled for a stress test next week. By these symptoms, what do you think will be found in this test?

In the condom wrapper instructions, it says "DISCARD" after sex but I don't know what to do. I heard you aren't suppossed to throw condoms into the toilet after you bust into them because they will clog the sewer system - or wrap around baby seals necks and suffocate them or something.

I'm afraid to toss mine in the garbage can cause I don't want my X to get her hands on one and come after me for child support. I saw this movie with Alicia Silverstone called CRUSH where she takes a guy's condom, puts some manpudding inside her and lies to the police saying she was raped.

I am 34 years old and I think i may have a drinking problem. I don't know that it has blown up into alcoholism. I have recently gone through some difficult times with a relationship. Last night I drank to try to dull the pain that i was having and I did some really stupid stuff. I don't drink every day but when I do I go way over the limits. I would equate it to binge drinking. My father and grandfather are alcoholics. My question is: Who can I talk to about this? I don't think I'm an alcoholic but I feel that it could eventually lead to that. Recently I have hurt the person that meant most to me because I said and did some really stupid things after drinking way too much. I don't think i need AA but I do need some sort of professional help or some sort of support with handling my emotions. I don't want to hurt anyone else with my drinking habits. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I need someone to talk to about this who understands.
