The best time to sleep is when you are tired and you have 7-8 hours of interrupted time to do so, which for most people is at night.

The best time is when it is completely dark for the entire time you are sleep. You will feel the most rested than any other part of the day. Believe me, I worked nights for many years and when I was able to go to the day shift, I slept at night and felt so much healthier.
