I am 59, a widow for 17 months. My husband and I were very very close. He died of liver cancer after a year and 10 days of knowing it was happening. We have one son 120 miles from here and the door mat is always out for me. I have no friends to talk to or family. No one! My husband and I were 'our' friends, he was a retired school techer. I am an introvert and love our home and our privacy. I have a bird and a fish so I can not take off for more than two days as there is not one to care for them. I have a dog and she goes everywhere with me. Everywhere, as in to the store (which I hate to go to for I feel so bad in being along) and to our sons house. I do not know which way to turn. I am a college educated person, very creative, very interested in the world. I have never worked. I am trapped and do not know what to do. A Taoist, so no church. Hate organized groups. Small community so no places of interest to go. But so lost. "Is this all there is left to life?"

guys, if your zipper is open and you didn't know -- would you like a lady (stranger) to tell you that?
i've encountered those many times, i just didn't say anything because i was afraid to embarrass them. or it would be too awkward to tell them.

I got a HUGE scrape on my leg the other day, and I'm afraid it's gonna hurt all summer. Do any of you out there have any tips on how to make it hurt less? Or maybe on how to make it not scar? PLEASE HELP!

I'm 12 and I haven't started my period. Like i have bled twice but it's really irregular. Is this normal? Should I have already started? I've already talked to my mom she said I was normal I think she was saying that to make me feel better!

I have a wedding this afternoon and I'm wearing a tight dress - should I avoid any sort of food for lunch? Or does it matter? (I really want pasta right now)

So this is how it goes.

I'm 14, I wake up at 6, try to sleep at 9, but I'm just lying there for 2 or 3 or even 5 hours.

I've been like that for the last 2 months.

Nope, benadryl doesn't work.

No, I don't drink coffee.

Every time I take a shower, my brain becomes dull for about 24 hours. It looses sharpness by 60% or more. I can't concentrate on my tasks. I tried both warm and cooler showers but the effect is just the same. Its the feeling you get as though you spend entire day on the sun by the beach and then imediatly return to work but can't concentrate on much. Please advise. Thanks.

I had my gallbladder out in January, 2002. Since then, (after they enlarged my stomach during surgery) I have had an uncomfortably much larger stomach that absolutely won't go away and sometimes, I have difficulty breathing because of it. Did the surgeon put too much gas in? Did he perhaps push the diaphram up further? Does my hiatal hernia have something to do with it? If there is a reason, or solution, please let me know. I am sick of this BIG gut!

Yesterday afternoon I had a mass removed from my right leg approx. two inches down from my knee. In the process the doctor cut thru a blood vessel. He tried to stop the bleeding with gauze but eventually had to clip each end with hemos and then tie down the vessel to stop the bleeding. Under his breath I heard him say "I knew I was going to do that". It still continued to bleed, but he stiched me up anyway. He never mentioned cutting the vessel, eventhough he knew I was watching the whole thing. Now I am my leg has been oozing blood thru the stiches, but only on the end where cut the vessel. I have tried contacting a local ER but the nurses will not give out advice over the phone and I do not feel comfortable calling the doctor as the take home instructions say it may ooze for up to 48 hours. I am most certain that cutting thru a vessel was not part of the plan when those instructions were written tho. When do I need to become concerned?

Serious replies only plz.
